The pinnacles rock formations at Crater Lake, Oregon
A short video featuring the pinnacle rock formations at Crater Lake National Park in southern Oregon. These rock formations were formed about 7700 years ago when hot gasses were released from volcanic activity during the eruption of Mt Mazama. The vents that are formed are called fumaroles. Over the centuries since the eruption streams have eroded and exposed these fossil fumaroles, many of which are hollow.

Crater Lake National Park
This video was entirely shot inside Crater Lake National Park in Oregon. Crater Lake is the deepest lake in the U.S. and 7th deepest in the world at 1,943 feet!! It is also the clearest lake in the world. It is 5 miles across and there is no outlet (river, stream, etc.), just evaporation. It is absolutely gorgeous and there are a lot of good hikes all around the lake to waterfalls and springs coming right out of the ground and through the snow.Unfortunately the road to get down to the water was closed due to snow despite the fact that I was there in June! I did not get to use my underwater housing :( Check it out! All the information can be found here:
The music was selected and licensed from JewelBeat which is a great website for youtubers who want to partner-up and have all the rights to their content. And it's affordable!
All shots were taken with a Sony Alpha57 and Sony f2.8 16-50mm and 75-300mm lenses. I used a combination of tripod and Glidecam HD-4000. Here are links to all of the product sites:
I shot at 24fps and sometimes 60fps to conform to 24fps later in post for better slow motion. I use Adobe Premiere and Final Cut, this film was edited in Final Cut ProX. It was very difficult to narrow HOURS of footage down to FOUR minutes! That is by far the toughest part of these videos.
I love hiking, nature, and filmmaking, I shoot commercials and music videos as well. Don't hesitate to contact me to collaborate. Please like, share, and comment on where you would like to see a video made or if you would like to make one together!
Don't forget to like, share, and subscribe, there will be a new location at least once a month and behind the scenes. I am also just getting started on Facebook and Twitter. Get at me!
I am looking for someone to compose original music for my upcoming projects, please contact me if you would like to work together!

Visiting Crater Lake National Park Today
The deepest lake in the United States can be found in Crater Lake National Park today. Many tourists come to Crater Lake Oregon to experience the magnificent views of the caldera that rests atop a destroyed volcano. Crater Lake National Park also has an area called the Pumice Desert.
Crater Lake National Park
Crater Lake was formed due to the collapse of a massive volcano, when the magma chamber beneath was depleated. A small volcanic cone later grew within the caldera, known as Wizard Island. Over thousands of years, the snowmelt has filled the caldera with fresh water.

Crater Lake Oregon
Video of Crater Lake at Crater Lake National Park Oregon.
This crater was formed over 7,700 years ago when the volcano Mt. Mazama violently erupted and then sank causing a deep basin. After years of snowmelt and rain it filled creating this marvelous lake. At a depth of 1,943 ft it is the deepest lake in the USA. It has the purist water which contributes to the deep blue water.
Crater Lake National park Oregon.
Hit up this National park in August of this year( 2015). Wow, what a great place. Only issue we had was the video quality could have been better but there were some fires burning in the area so it was a little hazy out there.
