A Taste of the Big City - New York From Above
A Taste of the Big City:
Join me on a brief flight above New York, and take in the beautiful surroundings of the concrete jungle. Experience what it is that makes this city such an enchanting place.
Shot over a three year period to account for noticeable landscape changes, this was filmed on Robinson R44 and AS355 Twin Squirrel helicopters, with a Cineflex and Wescam for the main shots, and a GoPro for the over water shots.

My trip to states
October the third 08 i went to USA.
Starting off landing at JFK Airport.. From there we took to Hotel Edison (i think it was called that at least) New York/Manhatten. And we saw the usual basic stuff like Empire state building, Statue of Liberty etc.
I had a nice impression of Manhatten it self, and the subway reminded me of Londons system so it was just off the wall using it, litteraly.
After 6 days in NYC Manhatten, we took off to L.A Beverly Hills where we stayed 7 days.
It was FUCKING AMAZING. Hot girls everywhere at the beach. Oh yeah and we went doing the basic stuff once again, like The hills, the sign, Walk of fame etc.
At first i really didn't wanna go see any theme park., But i got convinced by the hotel manager in the end and we bought some tickets to Universal Studios. It was the most amazing fucking insane Park i'd ever been to.
Let me put it this way
NYC Manhatten was deffenatly the town it self
And L.A Bvl hills was deffenatly the surroundings, attractions. Feel free to comment.
The songs is
KOL - Manhatten
Bob Marley - Three little birds
30 secs to mars - A beautiful Lie Acoustic.

Lyrics:
We’re the United States of America
We’re 50 strong and proud
Heres the names of all our states
And their capitals sang loud
My name is Alabama
My capital’s Montgomery
Welcome to Alaska
Juneau’s a great place to see
I am Arizona
My capital is Phoenix
My names Arkansas
My Little Rock is so scenic
I’m California dude
Sacramento’s my capital
Come to Colorado
Visit Denver if you go
I’m Connecticut
My capital is Hartford
Welcome to Delaware
Visit Dover if your board
My names Florida
Tallahassee the place to be
I am Georgia (GA)
Atlanta’s a great city
Aloha I'm Hawaii
Honolulu’s my capital
Come to Idaho
Visit Boise when you go
We’re the United States of America
We’re 50 strong and proud
If you want to learn about us
Then Help and sing out loud
Welcome to Illinois
Springfield is the place to see
If you visit Indiana
Indianapolis is in me
I am Iowa
Des Moines my capital
And if you visit Kansas
Topeka has it all
Welcome to Kentucky
Frankfort is a nice city
Down here in Louisiana
Baton Rouge is really pretty
Up here in Maine
Augusta is really nice
Here in Maryland
Annapolis is worth its price
Visit Massachusetts
Boston’s our little bean
Up here in Michigan
Lansing is worth a see
Hey it’s Minnesota
Saint Pauls our capital
But down in Mississippi
Jackson is the place to roll
We’re the United States of America
We’re 50 strong and proud
If you want to learn about us
Then Help and sing out loud
Hi there I’m Missouri
Jefferson City’s really cool
But up here in Montana
Helena really rules
Midway in Nebraska
You should stop at Lincoln City
In Nevada
Carson City is the one we think is pretty
New Hampshire welcomes you
Visit Concord any time
If you stop by New Jersey
Trenton is quite a find
I am New Mexico
My capitols Santa Fe
New York’s the Empire state
Albany’s where you could stay
Here in North Carolina
You could see Raleigh any time
My name is North Dakota
Bismarck is so fine
Ohio is my name
and Columbus is all mine
I am Oklahoma
Oklahoma City you unwind
We’re the United States of America
We’re 50 strong and proud
If you want to learn about us
Then Help and sing out loud
In the great state of Oregon
In Salem, you can trust
Pennsylvania is my name
and Harrisburg is a must
When you're in Rhode Island
Providence is where you should go
I am South Carolina
Columbia is what I know
Up here in South Dakota
Pierre is a heck of a town
When you're in Tennessee
Nashville won’t make you frown
Texas is my name
Austin’s known for its great music
Utah’s really great
Salt Lake City is amusing
Up here in Vermont
Montpelier has great charm
Virginia is the state
That has Richmond on its arm
I’m Washington
Olympia’s my capital
In West Virginia
Charleston will make your belly full
Wisconsin is the cheese
And Madison’s really nice
Wyoming has Cheyenne
Let's sing this chorus twice
We’re the United States of America
We’re 50 strong and proud
If you want to learn about us
Then Help and sing out loud
We’re the United States of America
We’re 50 strong and proud
If you want to learn about us
Then Help and sing out loud

Who are We- We are Americans. All of us may not agree with all of these qualities/virtues, but we are Americans that want true freedom. We are Americans like all the many others out there that know something is wrong. We are Americans that have taken action, using a pen, through peaceable means.
We believe that the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution for the united States of America as conceived by the founding fathers would if administered as conceived, return Americans back to a freedom and prosperity that cannot fully be comprehended. We believe at this time in history it is the people who may best save our nation. We believe that the current policies and practices by actors that purport to have America's best interest in mind are morally bankrupt. It is the people then that must create an alternate proposal.
What have We done- What a group of Americans have done then is simple! We have restored The Republic of the united States of America. The vehicle used to accomplish this task were Americans who stood up. The fuel was left for us over 220 years ago in the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution for the united States of America, the Bill of Rights, Amendments, 11, 12, and the original 13th. A plan supported by many Americans in all 50 republic states was implemented. That plan created a provisional structure where Americans can peaceably assemble and re-inhabit the de Jure seats of government as intended by our founding fathers.
What can We offer -- We, being the people who stood up, through the construct of the Restored Republic offer to all Americans true liberty, freedom, and justice for all. All that is required is your say so.
What will it do? -- When all Americans that are not happy with the path our nation is clearly headed down, join those that have already signed onto The Republic of the united States of America, our future can and will be transformed back to a de Jure form of governance as originally intended. The specific benefits shall be described in forthcoming press releases.

Videography refers to the process of capturing moving images on electronic media(e.g., videotape, direct to disk recording, or solid state storage) and even streaming media. The term includes methods of video production and post-production. It could be considered the video equivalent of cinematography (moving images recorded on film stock). The advent of digital video recording in the late 20th century blurred the distinction between videography and cinematography, as in both methods the intermittent mechanism became the same. Nowadays, any video work outside commercial motion picture production could be called videography.

I'm an ethnomusicologist. Not everyone knows this word, so if you're introduced to me at a party, or if you strike up a conversation with me on an airplane, I'll probably tell you that I'm a music professor or a music historian.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Music is essential to many of our lives. We listen to it when waking up, while in transit, at work, and with our friends. For many, music is like a constant companion. It can bring us joy and motivate us, accompany us through difficult times, and alleviate our worries.
Music is much more than mere entertainment. It has been a feature of every known human society—anthropologists and sociologists have yet to find a single culture throughout the course of human history that has not had music. In fact, many evolutionary psychologists today make the argument that music predated language. Primitive tribes and religious practices have used music to reach enlightened states for thousands of years, and Pythagoras used music to heal different psychological and physical ailments. Currently, cutting-edge scientific research has shown the effect that music has on the brain, the individual, and society.
Not only does music reach us on intellectual, social, and emotional levels, but many describe it as spiritual or mystical. The use of melodic, harmonic, and rhythmic devices in music can induce a psychological state in both the musicians and the listener that is beyond words to describe. Music can bring us back to ourselves, be our mirror, and show us a side of us we may have long forgotten or never knew existed.
Even though we are constantly exposed music in our daily lives, we rarely stop to actually think about what it is. After all, what exactly is music?
Fundamentally, music is a combination of sounds, and sound is vibration. One of the most succinct definitions of music comes from the Italian composer Ferruccio Busoni, who said that, “Music is sonorous air.” It's extraordinary to think that a simple vibration unseen by the human eye can facilitate a deeply rich emotional experience, alter perception and consciousness, and induce ecstatic states of being. What is the process by which these sonic vibratory frequencies are heard by the listener, creating a profound psychological experience for them? How does something as fleeting as sonorous air have such a healing and therapeutic effect on people? And how does it facilitate personal growth?
In this series, titled The Power of Music, we will explore these questions in detail by reporting on the latest cutting edge research on music, interviewing musicians, scientists, therapists, and spiritual leaders about their work with music, and digging up ancient texts and musical practices.

Marshall Katzman received his M.A. in Television and Radio production from the University of Michigan and was a Fellow at Princeton University. He is a member of Union Internationale De La Marionette, Puppeteers of America, The Puppetry Guild of Greater New York, The Garden State Puppetry Guild and is listed in the 2nd edition of Who's Who in Entertainment. Katzman is an Emeritus Professor of Communications at Bergen Community College, in Paramus, New Jersey. In 1956, at the age of eight, Marshall Katzman and his puppets first appeared in Zurich, Switzerland with a backyard performance of Sleeping Beauty. In the early sixties, while living in Closter, New Jersey, he was influenced by Russian puppeteer Sergei Obratsov as well as Frank Paris, creator of the original Howdy Doody and Larry Berthelson, creator of the Pickwick Puppet Theater. Katzman was mentored by Marcel Jovine, the award-winning toy designer, sculptor and designer of coins. Richard Hunt, the Muppeteer on Sesame Street, started his career in puppetry after purchasing a collection of puppets from Katzman. The New York World's Fair of 1965, saw Katzman perform a puppet production written by the world renown Sergei Obratsov. In the summer of 1973 Fantasy Puppet Theater made its debut with Rock-A-Day Johnny, a Rock and Roll puppet, at The Ark in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The one man troupe then began a tour of the United States, which included performances for museums, nightclubs, libraries, camps, major armed forces installations like Fort Knox as well as recreation departments in Charleston, Columbus, Miami, Nashville, and San Francisco. In 1986 Marshall Katzman produced a television documentary, Stars on Strings: a tribute to Frank Paris the creator of the first Howdy Doody. Stars on Strings, Not Just Puppets and An Evening of Puppetry have all been included in the Theater on Film and Tape Archives of the Billy Rose Theater Collection, Lincoln Center. The American Film Institute awarded his production of The Three Billy Goats Gruff finalist for fiction in their 1990 Visions of U.S. video competition. On October 6th, 1990 Katzman performed Sergei Obratsov's short puppet play entitled, Mortal Danger at the Bruno Walter Theater, Lincoln Center. Fantasy Puppet Theater has received funding from the New York State Council on the Arts and Con Edison. The one man show has also made regular appearances at the nationally acclaimed Puppet Playhouse in New York City. Katzman's past puppet productions have included: Around the World in 8O Days, Jack and the Beanstalk, Rip Van Winkle, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, The King's Stilts, Little Red Riding Hood, Aladdin's Lamp, Hansel and Gretel, The Frog Prince, Rumpelstiltskin and the Shoemaker and the Elves. Fantasy Puppet Theater performed Mortal Danger as part of the Rituals production at the Laboratory Theater in Paramus, New Jersey. As you may have noticed, we like to blow stuff up on this channel. So when the International Red Cross approached us to collaborate on a video about nuclear weapons, we were more than excited.
Until we did the research. It turned out we were a bit oblivious off the real impact of nuclear weapons in the real world, on a real city. And especially, how helpless even the most developed nations on earth would be if an attack occurred today.
So hopefully this video demonstrates how extremely non fun a real world nuclear attack would be, without being too gruesome. This collaboration was a blast (no pun intended) and we want to say a huge thank you to the International Red Cross!

Soundie: Meade Lux Lewis - Low Down Dog (1944)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Anderson Meade Lewis (September 4, 1905 – June 7, 1964), known as Meade Lux Lewis, was an American pianist and composer, noted for his playing in the boogie-woogie style. His best-known work, Honky Tonk Train Blues”, has been recorded by many artists.
Lewis was born in Chicago, though some sources state Louisville, Kentucky, on September 4, 1905 (September 3 and 13 have also been cited as his date of birth in various sources). In his youth he was influenced by the pianist Jimmy Yancey. His father, a guitarist who made two recordings of his own, introduced Meade to music and arranged for him to have violin lessons. He gave up the violin at age 16, shortly after his father's death, and switched to the piano. The nickname Lux was given to him by his boyhood friends. He would imitate a couple of characters from a popular comic strip in Chicago, Alphonse and Gaston, and stroke an imaginary beard as part of the routine. His friends started calling him the Duke of Luxembourg because of this, and the name stuck for the rest of his life. He became friends with Albert Ammons during childhood, a friendship that would last throughout their lives. They went to the same school together briefly, and they practiced and learned the piano together on the Ammons family piano.
A 1927 rendition of Honky Tonk Train Blues”, released by Paramount Records, marked his recording debut. He remade it for Parlophone in 1935 and for Victor in 1937, and a recording exists of a radio show, Camel Caravan, broadcast from New York City in 1939, which includes Honky Tonk Train Blues”. His performance at John Hammond's historic From Spirituals to Swing concert at Carnegie Hall in 1938 brought Lewis to public attention. Following the event, Lewis and two other performers from that concert, Albert Ammons and Pete Johnson, often appeared as a trio and became the leading boogie-woogie pianists of the day.
They had an extended engagement at Café Society, toured as a trio, and inspired the formation of Blue Note Records in 1939. Their success led to a decade-long boogie-woogie craze, with big-band swing treatments by Tommy Dorsey, Will Bradley, and others; and numerous country boogie and early rock-and-roll songs.
Lewis appeared in the movies New Orleans (1947) and Nightmare (1956). He also appeared, uncredited, in the movie It's a Wonderful Life, playing piano in the scene where George Bailey gets thrown out of Nick's Bar.
Lewis was fond of the Minneapolis area, where a niece lived, and would visit as often as he could. He appeared annually at the White House Restaurant (no longer extant) in Golden Valley. He began a successful three-week engagement there in May 1964. Around 2 a.m. on Sunday, June 7, Lewis left the parking lot of the White House and headed east on Olson Memorial Highway, when his Chrysler Imperial was rear-ended by a vehicle driven by one Ronald Bates, who was traveling an estimated 80 mph. Lewis's car was pushed 400 feet and crashed into a tree; he was killed instantly. He was 58. Bates survived, but his passenger died the following
Legacy
Lewis' best-known work, Honky Tonk Train Blues”, has been recorded in various contexts, often in a big band arrangement. Early recordings of the piece by artists other than Lewis include performances by Adrian Rollini, Frankie Trumbauer, classical harpsichordist Sylvia Marlowe, theater organist George Wright (with drummer Cozy Cole, under the title Organ Boogie), and Bob Zurke with Bob Crosby's orchestra. Keith Emerson of Emerson, Lake & Palmer often included it in his repertoire and had a Top 30 hit with it in 1976.
Lewis was mentioned in Chapter 81 of author Kurt Vonnegut's novel Cat's Cradle. Lewis is also mentioned in Ross Macdonald's novel The Moving Target and in Keith Richards's autobiography Life.
On June 25, 2019, The New York Times Magazine listed Meade Lux Lewis among hundreds of artists whose material was reportedly destroyed in the 2008 Universal fire.

The White Birds - Lycoming College Choir - 2019 Homecoming & Family Weekend Concert
The 2019-2020 Lycoming College women's Chamber ensemble performs The White Birds during the Homecoming and Family Weekend Concert on October 4, 2019. For more on the choir, visit
The White Birds was composed by Dr. Daniel Hall, the choir's director, with poetry by William Butler Yeats. The soloists are Mercedes Rothrock and Shannon Burr. The accompanist is Jeff Johnson.
The Lycoming College Choir is the largest of three choral groups at Lycoming College, a historically Methodist four-year private college in Wiilliamsport, Pennsylvania. It is the college's full choir and supplies music for every major school event on campus. It is open to students from all academic fields and to every student who loves to sing.
The choir's repertoire consists of both sacred and secular music ranging from classical standards to new works by contemporary composers, as well as folk, world music, and modern styles.
In its seven decades, the Lycoming College Choir has performed hundreds of concerts including appearances at the National Cathedral, the Washington Shrine, the Crystal Cathedral, Coral Ridge, and New York City's St. John the Divine and St. Patrick's Cathedral. The Choir also gives performances during Sunday services at Williamsport-area churches, including First United Methodist, Pine Street United Methodist, St. Mark's Lutheran, and St. John's United Methodist. In addition, the Choir often hosts and performs with visiting college choirs, such as various friendship choirs from Europe, and with local orchestras.
Approximately 40 students are chosen annually from the Lycoming College Choir to perform with the Tour Choir, which has a long history of quality performances throughout the United States and the world. Since its inception in 1947 by Walter McIver, the Lycoming College Tour Choir has presented concerts in every state east of the Mississippi River, Texas, California, Canada, Puerto Rico, Argentina, China, and throughout Europe. The choir tours nationally each year and internationally every three years. In May 2019, the choir's Choral Scholars ensemble performed a series of concerts throughout France and was selected by competitive audition to sing in Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris.
Lycoming's third and smallest choral ensemble is the Chamber Choir, which performs a diverse repertoire ranging from vocal jazz to major works. The Chamber Choir has been featured twice in the Holiday Celebrations at the White House, and the ensemble has sung with the Gregg Smith Singers, the Chieftains, and Barry Manilow.
Lycoming College is an independent coeducational college of 1,400 students enrolled in 36 majors. The College is ranked by U.S. News and World Report as a national liberal arts college. Located in Williamsport, PA, the college is affiliated with the United Methodist Church.
White throated sparrow foraging behavior
White-throated sparrow (Zonotrichia albicollis) hopping-scratching foraging behavior
The white-throated sparrow is a passerine bird of the American sparrow family. White-throated sparrows (Zonotrichia albicollis) breed in central Canada and New England. They nest either on the ground under shrubs or low in trees in deciduous or mixed forest areas and lay three to five brown-marked blue or green-white eggs. This sparrow species ranks among the most abundant native birds during winter in eastern and southern North America and California. Their wintering range reaches the southern states of the US. These sparrows forage on the ground under or near thickets or in low vegetation. They mainly eat seeds, insects and berries, and are attracted to bird feeders. Forages mostly on ground under or close to dense thickets. Often scratches in leaf-litter by hopping with both feet. This hopping-scratching foraging technique was captured in Rockland county, near Pomona, Harriman State Park, New York in a shrubby area with low trees. As you can see this technique is quite efficient and powerful: It can dislodge pieces of stones heavier than the bird itself. White-throated sparrows sing a pretty, thin whistle that sounds like Oh-sweet-canada-canada. The beautiful song of this sparrow can be enjoyed in a youtube video by Lang Elliot and Bob McGuire.
