Time Square
Times Square is a major commercial intersection and neighborhood in Midtown Manhattan, New York City, at the junction of Broadway and Seventh Avenue, and stretching from West 42nd to West 47th Streets.[1] Brightly adorned with billboards and advertisements, Times Square is sometimes referred to as The Crossroads of the World,[2] The Center of the Universe,[3] the heart of The Great White Way,[4][5][6] and the heart of the world.[7] One of the worlds busiest pedestrian intersections,[8] it is also the hub of the Broadway Theater District[9] and a major center of the worlds entertainment industry.[10] Times Square is one of the worlds most visited tourist attractions, drawing an estimated 50 million visitors annually.[11] Approximately 330,000 people pass through Times Square daily, many of them tourists,[12] while over 460,000 pedestrians walk through Times Square on its busiest days.[7]
Formerly Longacre Square, Times Square was renamed in 1904 after The New York Times moved its headquarters to the newly erected Times Building, the site of the annual ball drop which began on December 31, 1907, and continues today, attracting over a million visitors to Times Square every New Years Eve.[13]
Times Square is not a square in the geometric sense of a polygon, but is more of a bowtie shape, or two triangles emanating roughly north and south from 45th Street.[14] Duffy Square, the northernmost of Times Squares triangles, was dedicated in 1937 to Chaplain Francis P. Duffy of New York Citys U.S. 69th Infantry Regiment and is the site of a memorial to him, along with a statue of George M. Cohan.

Gray Line Tour NYC - *BEST TOUR OF NYC*
The Gray Line red double-decker bus tour may seem cheesy, but I can promise you... it will be one of the BEST TOURS of any city you've ever taken in the USA!
When my sister first moved to Manhattan years ago, we decided we wanted to see a little bit of the city. So we decided on the Gray Line tour because it appeared to be the best value of all of the tours. One ticket cost $59/person, but gave you unlimited access to hop on & hop off of ANY gray line bus for an entire 48-hour period!
Instead of taking taxi cabs (this was before the uprise of UBER), we used the Gray Line as our transportation from place to place during that time frame. Plus, we were SERIOUSLY IMPRESSED with how much history of the city we learned as well as how much ground we were able to cover in just two days!

Chinatown, New York
We’re taking you to Manhattan's Chinatown, which is the most famous and home to the highest concentrated, industry population density of Chinese people in the Western Hemisphere.
Click to Subscribe
Most visitors blow through in about half an hour and just walk along a couple of the main streets like Mott, Mulberry and Canal and then depart, and that's fine.
But you can venture into the side streets and go further east to get a real taste of the neighborhood, as we’re showing you on the map route that we took to make this movie, bringing you all around.
Chinatown has several quite different faces. On one hand it's an exotic bit of Asia appealing to tourists. It will is like entering a different world from the rest of Manhattan, lots of shop selling trinkets and many restaurants serving authentic cuisine making a, fine place to stroll.
On the other hand, it’s, a very busy commercial district with small factories, trucks loading and unloading everywhere, warehouses packed with goods importing and exporting, many little banks and a him slightly chaotic energy. It's a busy New York dynamo.
We will take a walk along Hester Street for a few blocks. It's one tourist shop after another, it seems, but fun to look at with these open fronts.
As you look down the side streets you'll notice that gridiron of the old fire escapes. It really is a characteristic and quaint touch of old New York.
Here you can see how Chinatown has really been expanding, especially out here on the east side with the residents from Fuzhou in the southeast part of China. In recent decades they have been the main group coming in.

Black Friday shoppers brave the cold in New York
(30 Nov 2019) BLACK FRIDAY SHOPPERS BRAVE THE COLD IN NEW YORK
Black Friday enthusiasts woke up before dawn and traveled cross-state to their favorite malls in search of hot deals, kicking off a shortened shopping season that intensified the scramble between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
But the ever-growing popularity of online shopping and holiday discounts that started weeks earlier dampened the frenzy. This year, more people got a head start on gift-hunting, lured by deals from retailers trying to compensate for the shorter season.
The shopping season is the shortest since 2013 because Thanksgiving fell on the last Thursday in November - the latest possible date it could be.
It was mixed messages from shoppers like Terri Rickert and Babatunde Lewis on the streets of New York.
Rickert told the Associated Press she was thrilled with the deals she got, and while Lewis also did well, he was hoping to find steeper deals as it gets closer to Christmas.
The National Retail Federation, the nation’s largest retail trade group, baked the shorter season into its forecast, but it says the real drivers will be the job market. It forecasts that holiday sales will rise between 3.8% and 4.2%, an increase from the disappointing 2.1% growth in the November and December 2018 period that came well short of the group’s prediction.
NRF expects online and catalog sales, which are included in the total, to increase between 11% and 14% for the holiday period.
Last year’s holiday sales were hurt by turmoil over the White House trade policy with China and a delay of nearly a month in data collection because of a government shutdown. This year’s holiday forecast is above the average holiday sales growth of 3.7% over the previous five years.
Marshal Cohen, chief industry analyst at market research firm NPD Group Inc., says he doesn't believe a shorter season will affect overall sales. But early discounts will likely diminish Black Friday’s impact, he said. In terms of the busiest day of the year, it will be a toss-up between Black Friday and the last Saturday before Christmas.
We still have the same amount of money to spend regardless of whether the season is longer or shorter,” he said.
More than half of consumers started their holiday shopping early this year, and nearly a quarter of purchases have already been made, according to the annual survey released by the NRF and Prosper Insights & Analytics.
Adobe Analytics predicts a loss of $1 billion in online revenue from a shortened season. Still, it expects online sales will reach $143.7 billion, up 14.1% from last year's holiday season.
Adobe Analytics said Thanksgiving Day set records for online shopping. Consumers spent $4.2 billion on Thanksgiving, a 14.5% increase from the holiday a year ago. Black Friday was on track to hit $7.4 billion.
As online sales surged, some retailers including Costco.com and H&M grappled with brief outages, according to technology company Catchpoint.
Target reported Friday that 1 million more customers used its app to shop Black Friday deals compared with last year. The discounter said customers bought big ticket items like TVs, Apple iPads and Apple Watches.

Willowbrook Mall (NJ) - Raw & Real Retail
This is our walkthrough of the Willowbrook Mall in Wayne, NJ from January 22, 2019. This is a big thriving mall in northern New Jersey. The owner of this mall, GGP (now Brookfield Properties) decided at some point to completely rip any vintage character out of this mall. If you look up pictures of this place on google, you'll be greeted with a bunch of old postcards done of this mall back in the 1970s that show off an abundant use of plants, very interesting light fixtures, and lots and lots of color. The mall today stands as a testament to overzealous renovation ideas, as it is nearly pure white now and retain absolutely none of the original charm this mall had. I did not particularly care for this mall.
Songs used in this video (in order):
Keith Mansfield - Gladiator
Jaga Jazzist - Oban
Steve Gray - Wonder Groove
Here is some info from Wikipedia:
Willowbrook Mall is a one-level shopping center with a partial second floor located in Wayne, New Jersey, United States, in the New York City metropolitan area. It is near the intersection of U.S. Route 46, Route 23 and Interstate 80. The mall opened in 1969 and was expanded or renovated in 1970, 1988, 2006, and 2015. The mall has over 200 retail establishments and a gross leasable area of 1,514,000 ft², and is the fourth-largest shopping mall in New Jersey. The mall anchors are Macy's, Lord & Taylor, Bloomingdale's, Sears, and Dave & Buster's.
With blue laws in effect in neighboring Bergen County, and nearby shopping haven Paramus imposing even stricter Sunday-sales restrictions of its own, Willowbrook Mall has benefited from the spillover of shoppers on Sunday.
Construction of a 100,000-square-foot Ohrbach's store in 1968, joined by a Sears, were the original anchors of what was designed as a two-level, 110-store, indoor shopping mall, encompassing 1,500,000 square feet.
In 1993, Willowbrook Mall became one of the first malls in New Jersey to ban smoking on mall grounds.
Sears is the mall's only remaining original anchor store, while the former Bamberger's store has been open without interruption for the mall's entire existence. Bamberger's was rebranded as Macy's in 1986 after its corporate parent decided to rebrand its entire northeastern United States operation under its namesake marque. Ohrbach's came under new ownership and was rebranded as part of the Steinbach chain, which went out of business in 1996. The building was gutted and expanded for its new tenant Lord & Taylor, which opened in 1997. Stern's closed its doors in 2001 after its parent company, Federated Department Stores, retired the brand; the store was converted to its sister brand, Bloomingdale's, which opened in late 2002.
In 2015, Sears Holdings spun off 235 of its properties, including the Sears at Willowbrook Mall, into Seritage Growth Properties.
In 2015, it was announced that the mall would undergo a two-year $23 million renovation. The renovation entailed new ceilings in the Sears & Macy's wings, an overhaul of the seating in the food court, new flooring throughout the mall, additional seating, and a two-story streetscape theme for the Bloomingdale's wing. In 2017, Sears shrunk its square footage and subleased the unused portion to Dave & Buster's, which opened on Valentine's Day 2018.
The mall and its surrounding access roads and parking areas are prone to flooding in rainstorms. The Passaic River flows near the mall and one of its tributaries, the Pompton River, runs behind it.
In August 2018, Macy's added a Macy's Backstage outlet in a portion of its store. Seritage plans to demolish the Sears Auto Center for a Cinemark movie theater, becoming the second movie theater within the mall area limits (after a 14-screen AMC Theatres, formerly Loews Theatres). P.F Chang's opened in the Bloomingdale's wing of the mall on January 22, 2019.
The mall and its parking lots serve as a transportation hub for the surrounding area: An NJ Transit park and ride facility, opened in 1974, provides bus service to and from the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Midtown Manhattan.
Willowbrook Mall was the site of The Adventures of Pete & Pete special episode, What We Did on Our Summer Vacation (May 17, 1992), in which Ellen's photo booth was located in the parking lot of the mall
