In this video, I walk Manhattan's Canal Street in its Entirety from Chinatown to the Hudson River. I begin my walk by exiting the East Broadway subway station on the F line.

Canal Street is a major east–west street in Lower Manhattan, New York City, running from East Broadway between Essex and Jefferson Streets in the east, to West Street between Watts and Spring Streets in the west. It runs through the neighborhood of Chinatown, and forms the southern boundaries of SoHo and Little Italy as well as the northern boundary of Tribeca. The street acts as a major connector between Jersey City, New Jersey, via the Holland Tunnel (I-78), and Brooklyn, New York City, via the Manhattan Bridge. It is a two-way street for most of its length – from West Street to the Manhattan Bridge – with two unidirectional stretches between Forsyth Street and the Manhattan Bridge.

Lake George, nicknamed the Queen of American Lakes, is a long, narrow oligotrophic lake located at the southeast base of the Adirondack Mountains, in the northeastern portion of the state of New York.

This video begins as I take a scenic drive on the Prospect Mountain Veteran's Memorial High Parkway which provides several scenic overlooks of the lake and the town of Lake George. Next I take a drive through the town of Lake George making stops at the Old Courthouse and the only remaining Howard Johnson's Restaurant in the world.

In this episode, Henry talks to Gamliel about why and how he started the first stationary Jewish Escape Room in the Western Hemisphere. Born in Moldova, Gamliel moved to Brooklyn, New York at 17. After receiving a bachelor’s degree in data science from Columbia University, he worked in many places around the world including Germany and Israel. He moved back to Brooklyn with his wife and they now have five children.

Gamliel talks about his biggest challenges in the escape room games industry, from attracting non-Jewish customers, to marketing using social media and his website, to finding the right times to be open. He also discusses being Jewish in the United States compared to Europe and the rising costs of being a student in the United States.  

Henry also meets a new friend, Ruben, who works for the National Debt Relief Organization on Wall Street. While riding on the subway to Ruben’s office on Wall Street, Henry asks Ruben about what steps it takes to help people become debt free. Ruben tells the story of one of his clients, a veteran, who was struggling with large debts. Ruben was able to put him on a plan and had him out of debt in four years. Ruben also talks about the challenges of working in the “Land of Sharks” a.k.a. Wall Street from long working hours, to taking courses that can help you create specialized skills to be more successful. Ruben also talks about his Armenian culture and where to find the best night life in New York.

The High Line is a public park built on top of an old railroad tracks in Manhattan. It runs from Gansevoort Street in the Meatpacking District to West 34th Street.

The High Line (also known as High Line Park) is a 1.45-mile-long (2.33 km) elevated linear park, greenway and rail trail. It was created on a former New York Central Railroad spur on the west side of Manhattan in New York City. Led by landscape architecture firm James Corner Field Operations, the abandoned railway has been redesigned as a living system that draws from multiple disciplines including landscape architecture, urban design, and ecology. Since opening in 2009, the High Line has become an icon in contemporary landscape architecture.

The park is built on the disused southern viaduct section of a New York Central Railroad line called the West Side Line. Originating in the Lower West Side of Manhattan, the park runs from Gansevoort Street – three blocks below 14th Street – in the Meatpacking District, through Chelsea, to the northern edge of the West Side Yard on 34th Street near the Javits Center. Formerly, the West Side Line went as far south as a railroad terminal at Spring Street, just north of Canal Street. However, most of the southern section was demolished in 1960, with another small portion being demolished in 1991.
