Midtown has a tremendous density of places, people, attractions and landmarks which await your discovery and the best way to experience it of course is on foot. You've heard about the New York minute? It's like a split second in which a lot of things get done. New York is quick. In fact, when you're walking, be sure not to take up the entire sidewalk because you're going to be blocking some speeding New Yorker coming up behind you.
We reach the Upper Eastside, with that rarefied atmosphere of the blueblood territory. The multimillion mansions and the nice side streets. Be sure to have a look as you walk along Madison and the other avenues down the side streets and see where the superrich live.
Lexington is one of the most interesting of New York avenues. It still retains a lot of its earlier character and quality, not quite so yuppiefied and gentrified as the other avenues that we been walking on, all of what you been lovely, but Lexington is especially nitty-gritty and a fine place to end our walking tour of New York's grand avenues.

New York City (also referred to as New York, NYC, The Big Apple, or just The City by locals), is the most populous city in the United States. It lies at the mouth of the Hudson River in the southernmost part of the state, which is part of the Mid-Atlantic region of the U.S. The city spans a land area of 305 square miles (790km²).
New York City has a population of approximately 8.2 million people. The New York Metropolitan Area, which spans lower New York, northern New Jersey, and southwestern Connecticut, has a population of 18.7 million, making it the largest metropolitan area in the U.S. As of 2014, it was one of the 15 largest metro areas in the world.
New York City is a center for media, culture, food, fashion, art, research, finance, and trade. It has one of the largest and most famous skylines on earth, dominated by the iconic Empire State Building.
New York City consists of five boroughs, which are five separate counties. Each borough has a unique culture and could be a large city in its own right. Within each borough individual neighborhoods, some several square miles in size, and others only a few blocks in size, have personalities lauded in music and film. Where you live, work, and play in New York says something to New Yorkers about who you are.
Manhattan (New York County)

Brooklyn (Kings County)

Like most of the great world cities, New York has an abundance of great attractions - so many, that it would be impossible to list them all here. What follows is but a sampling of the most high-profile attractions in New York City; more detailed info can be found in the district pages. Many tourist attractions in New York City offer free or discounted admission on certain days, eg Museum of Modern Art's Free Friday, or Museums on Us® program by Bank of America.
Tourists often spend their entire vacation in New York standing in line (or as New Yorkers say, standing on line). This is often unnecessary; there are usually alternatives. For example, one can choose to avoid the Empire State Building during the day (it is open, and empty, late, until midnight or 2AM on weekends during summer), skip the Statue of Liberty in favor of the Staten Island Ferry, and stay away from the Guggenheim on Monday (it is one of the only museums open that day). Also, there is no reason to stand in line for a Broadway show if you already have a ticket with an assigned seat. If you prefer, get a drink nearby and come back closer to curtain time, when you can walk right in. The lines for bus tours can be absurd because tourists all seem to have the exact same itinerary - which is get on a bus in the morning in Times Square, get off for the Statue of Liberty, and finish on the East Side in the afternoon. Why not go downtown in the morning, and save Midtown for the afternoon? You will thank yourself for avoiding the crowds. Also, understand that buses are the slowest way to go crosstown in Midtown Manhattan during peak hours, and taxis are not much better. You are often better off either on foot or taking the subway.
Battery Park New York, Vacation destinations in north america
Battery Park is a 25-acre (10 ha) public park located at the Battery, the southern tip of Manhattan Island in New York City, facing New York Harbor. The area and park are named for the artillery batteries that were positioned there in the city's early years to protect the settlement behind them.
The southern shoreline of Manhattan Island had long been known as The Battery since the 17th century when the area was part of the Dutch Settlement of New Amsterdam. At the time, an artillery battery there served to protect the seaward approaches to the town. The Battery continued its function during the colonial era, and was the center of Evacuation Day celebrations commemorating the departure of the last British troops in the United States after the American Revolutionary War. Just prior to the War of 1812, the West Battery, later renamed Castle Clinton, was erected on a small artificial offshore island nearby, to replace the earlier batteries in the area; later, when the land of Battery Park was created, it encircled and incorporated the island.
The relatively modern park was mostly created by landfill starting from 1855, resulting in a landscaped open space at the foot of the heavily developed mainland of downtown. Skyscrapers now occupy most of the original land, stopping abruptly where the park begins. On State Street, the former harbor front and the northern boundary of the park, a single Federal mansion, the James Watson House, survives as part of the Shrine of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton; until the 1820s, the city's stylish residential district was north of this house, between Broadway and the Hudson River.
While the Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel and Battery Park Underpass were under construction from 1940–52, the park was partly closed; it was later re-landscaped and expanded by 2 acres (0.81 ha). Peter Minuit Plaza was built in 1955; the East Coast Memorial was dedicated in 1963. Battery Park was included within a group of historic waterfront sites designated Harbor Park, by the government of New York State, in 1982.

Hello and welcome to a New York Habitat furnished apartment new video tour. Today, we are going to visit a furnished apartment on West 141st Street and Hamilton Place in Hamilton Heights, Manhattan, New York.

This furnished studio apartment is located in Hamilton Heights which is a district of Harlem in uptown Manhattan. You'll find many historic and beautiful brownstone buildings, restaurants and grocery stores.
This fully furnished studio apartment is located on the top floor of a 3-story walk-up brownstone building. There is a buzzer/intercom at the entrance of the building for guest entry. Let's take a peak!
When you enter the apartment, you'll find wooden floors which lead to the bedroom area and its decorative fireplace.
You'll find the kitchen on your left side. It's equipped with a gas cooking stove, a refrigerator/freezer, a toaster, a coffee maker and a microwave. Of course, dishware, pots, pans and utensils are provided for cooking a meal just like at home.
Facing the kitchen, you'll find the bathroom. It's standard with white tiled walls. There is a sink, a mirror, a shower and a bathtub. There is also a towel shelf on the wall.
Off the bathroom, you'll find the living area. It's furnished with a double sized bed and a single sized bed. The living area has 2 windows and a large closet to hang out your clothes and belongings. There is a wooden table with a chair and a lamp tucked into the corner of the living area. A TV with cable and Internet connection are provided with this apartment so you'll be able to keep in touch with your family and friends, telling them how great New York really is.
And speaking of New York, let's explore the neighborhood around this apartment.
This furnished studio apartment is in Hamilton Heights, a great neighborhood in Harlem, uptown Manhattan. This neighborhood is full of historic brownstones and parks.
A few blocks away is Riverbank State Park which is along the Hudson River. The park contains sporting fields, a swimming pool, jogging and running tracks. Also, you'll get a great view of the George Washington Bridge from the park so it's definitely worth a visit.
Hamilton is home to many schools and colleges. One of them is the City College of New York which was the first free public institution of higher education in the United States. This campus stretches from 130th street to 141st street on Convent Avenue. Many of its buildings are nationally protected landmarks.

Crossing the border from USA into Canada on foot across Rainbow Bridge.
To get to Canada from the USA, cross Rainbow Bridge from Niagara Falls, New York USA into Niagara Falls, Ontario Canada. To leave the United States of America, walk through a self locking metal turnstile gate without needing to show any id at this point, half way across the Rainbow Bridge there is a bronze plaque on the bridge fence indicating the United States / Canada International Boundary Line, this area is also notated with the Canadian flag flying next to the USA flag. To enter Canada after crossing the International Boundary Line you must show your passport to customs agents before entering the country of Canada, there is no fee for this process but when you want to cross the same bridge back into the USA there is a .50 cent fee.
Walking across Rainbow Bridge takes under10 minutes, the time to show your passport to the agent at the Canadian border and the agents at the USA when returning to The United States of America cannot be determined as the time varies based on how many border agents or people trying to enter the country at any given time.
There are excellent views of Niagara Falls from both the USA and Canada, but they are both very different, the view of the falls from Canada shows a more natural less built up look, where as the view of Niagara Falls from the USA shows more of a city built up look.
