VISIT NEW YORK - EMPIRE STATE BUILDING, STATUE OF LIBERTY & CENTRAL PARK
New York is one of our favourite cities at Christmas.
Top things to do in New York City
Empire State Building
We visited just before sunset so we could capture day to night. We book express passes which were worth their weight in gold. This allowed us to jump the queues and were treated like VIPs.
Rockefeller Centre
If you want to go Ice Skating this is one you must book in advance as it gets very busy. If you aren't skating try and go either early morning of late evening to avoid the crowds.
St Patricks Cathedral
Who would have thought a massive cathedral right in the heart of 5th avenue. Such an impressive building and certainly worth seeing.
Grand Central Station
If you are like us and love American movies, the likes of Superman feature this impressive building. One of the most picturesque stations, certainly beats Kings Cross.
Statue of Liberty
Visiting the Statue of Liberty is a must do. It's certainly worth you booking tickets which allow you to go up to the Pedestal or the Crown. The Crown tickets sell out months in advance so if you know you want to go, book in advance. If you are visiting at Christmas, wrap up warm it gets cold on the ferry and the island.
Central Park
We were so lucky with the weather when we walked around Central Park. It was certainly cold however in the spots of sun it could actually be quite deceiving. There are many restaurants and coffee spots in the park and even a Zoo. It’s very easy to forget you are in the centre of New York while walking in Central Park, so if you like walking its certainly very romantic, especially if you want to escape the hustle and bustle of the streets.
Trump Tower
Not a lot to see in here, however it was obviously worth a browse.
Blue Bottle Coffee
For all you coffee lovers out there, if you haven’t had a Blue Bottle Coffee YOU NEED TO. You can thank us later.
Saks Fifth Avenue.
Saks put of a pretty impressive light show in the evenings over Christmas and it runs every 15 mins. It’s very easy to forget where you are and think you are in Disney World while standing watching the building with every other tourist in New York city. However, it’s a must.
The Plaza Hotel
If you’re looking to splash out a little head for a drink in the Plaza hotel, The Palm Court is the perfect setting for a few cocktails after a busy day rushing around the City.
If you need to book your hotel and flights book here

The Beauty of the world around us.
The City of New York, usually referred to as either New York City (NYC) or simply New York (NY), is the most populous city in the United States. With an estimated 2018 population of 8,398,748 distributed over a land area of about 302.6 square miles (784 km2), New York is also the most densely populated major city in the United States.[10] Located at the southern tip of the state of New York, the city is the center of the New York metropolitan area, the largest metropolitan area in the world by urban landmass[11] and one of the world's most populous megacities,[12][13] with an estimated 19,979,477 people in its 2018 Metropolitan Statistical Area and 22,679,948 residents in its Combined Statistical Area.[3][4] A global power city,[14] New York City has been described as the cultural,[15][16][17][18][19] financial,[20][21] and media capital of the world,[22][23] and exerts a significant impact upon commerce,[21] entertainment, research, technology, education, politics, tourism, art, fashion, and sports. The city's fast pace[24][25][26] has inspired the term New York minute.[27] Home to the headquarters of the United Nations,[28] New York is an important center for international diplomacy.[29][30]
Situated on one of the world's largest natural harbors,[31][32] New York City consists of five boroughs, each of which is a separate county of the State of New York.[33] The five boroughs – Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, The Bronx, and Staten Island – were consolidated into a single city in 1898.[34] The city and its metropolitan area constitute the premier gateway for legal immigration to the United States.[35] As many as 800 languages are spoken in New York,[36][37][38] making it the most linguistically diverse city in the world.[37][39][40] New York City is home to more than 3.2 million residents born outside the United States,[41] the largest foreign-born population of any city in the world.[42] As of 2019, the New York metropolitan area is estimated to produce a gross metropolitan product (GMP) of US$1.9 trillion.[8] If greater New York City were a sovereign state, it would have the 12th highest GDP in the world.[43] New York is home to the highest number of billionaires of any city in the world.[44]
New York City traces its origins to a trading post founded by colonists from the Dutch Republic in 1624 on Lower Manhattan; the post was named New Amsterdam in 1626.[45] The city and its surroundings came under English control in 1664[45] and were renamed New York after King Charles II of England granted the lands to his brother, the Duke of York.[46] New York was the capital of the United States from 1785 until 1790,[47] and has been the largest US city since 1790.[48] The Statue of Liberty greeted millions of immigrants as they came to the U.S. by ship in the late 19th and early 20th centuries[49] and is an international symbol of the U.S. and its ideals of liberty and peace.[50] In the 21st century, New York has emerged as a global node of creativity and entrepreneurship,[51] social tolerance,[52] and environmental sustainability,[53][54] and as a symbol of freedom and cultural diversity.[55] In 2019, New York was voted the greatest city in the world per a survey of over 30,000 people from 48 cities worldwide, citing its cultural diversity.[15]
Many districts and landmarks in New York City are well known, including three of the world's ten most visited tourist attractions in 2013;[56] a record 62.8 million tourists visited in 2017.[57] Several sources have ranked New York the most photographed city in the world.[58][59] Times Square, iconic as the world's heart[60] and crossroads,[61] is the brightly illuminated hub of the Broadway Theater District,[62] one of the world's busiest pedestrian intersections,[63][64] and a major center of the world's entertainment industry.[65] The names of many of the city's landmarks, skyscrapers,[66] and parks are known internationally. Manhattan's real estate market is among the most expensive in the world.[67][68] New York is home to the largest ethnic Chinese population outside of Asia,[69][70] with multiple distinct Chinatowns across the city.[71][72][73] Providing continuous 24/7 service,[74] the New York City Subway is the largest single-operator rapid transit system worldwide, with 472 rail stations.[75][76][77] The city has over 120 colleges and universities, including Columbia University, New York University, and Rockefeller University, ranked among the top universities in the world.

Today we wake up very early to catch a ferry from Battery Park over to Liberty Island. After checking out the pedestal, we head up to the crown of the Statue of Liberty! The view is spectacular and the inside of the statue is amazing (if not humid), but we eventually leave. After walking around Liberty Island a little more, we catch the ferry over to Ellis Island, the entry point to the United States of America for millions of immigrants during the first part of the last century. We walk through the registration room, the dorms, and many of the other rooms that were used to process immigrants. We then head back to Manhattan and go over a few tips for visiting Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty yourself.

Empire State Building New York City, New York
New Learn Pilates App!
Mahalo travel expert Asha K. gives you some quick tips for visiting the Empire State Building in New York City.
Overview
---------------------------------------------------------------------
The Empire State Building, located at 350 5th Avenue at W 34th Street, is a must-see landmark for anyone visiting New York City. Every day, tourists from around the globe visit this iconic building to check out the stunning 360-degree views of the city from the observation deck located on the 86th floor. On a clear day, you can see Central Park, New Jersey, Manhattan and even Massachusetts. To get to the observatory floor, expect to pay $21 for adults and $14 for children. An additional $6 can be paid for the prerecorded audio tour as well.
History
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Built in 1931 at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and W 34th Street, the 102-story Empire State Building was the tallest building in the world at 1,250 feet, plus the 203-foot pinnacle, until the World Trade Center's North Tower was built in 1972. It has been named one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World by the American Society of Engineers. It was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1986. With the attack on the WTC in 2001, the Empire State Building became New York City's tallest building once more. It is the third tallest skyscraper in the United States after Chicago's Willis Sears Tower and Trump International Hotel and Tower, and the 15th tallest in the world.
The building was designed by William F. Lamb from the top down in the early 19th Century. Financing came from John J. Raskob and Pierre S. du Pont. Construction began on March 17, 1930 and involved 3,400 workers and iron workers. The ribbon was cut on May 1, 1931, 410 days after building started. It cost nearly $41 million to erect.
The Empire State Building includes 85 stories of commercial and office space. Excluding the observation deck, the other 16 stories represent the Art Deco tower. It has 6,500 windows and 73 elevators. About 1,000 businesses and 21,000 employees are housed within. It even has its own zip code - 10118.
The Tower Lights
---------------------------------------------------------------------
The tower lights change often to celebrate different occasions. May 20-22, 2011, for instance, the Empire State Building will display blue and white lights on the North and South sides, while the East and West sides will sport blue and orange lights for the New York Mets and the New York Yankees Subway Series. Earth Day and St. Patrick's Day have the building in green lights; red, white and blue for President's Day and Independence Day; and red, pink and white for Valentine's Day among many other celebratory days throughout the year. Visit the website to find out what color combinations are coming up for your visit.
The Run-Up
---------------------------------------------------------------------
On February 1, you could catch the Empire State Building Annual Run-Up where athletes from around the world come to race up the buildings 1,576 steps to the observatory floor. As of 2011, Thomas Dold of Germany took first place for the sixth year in a row with a time of 10 minutes and 10 seconds.
Famous Visitors
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Among the famous and notable visitors to the Empire State Building over the years are Fidel Castro, President Bill Clinton, Emeril Lagasse, Cyndi Lauper, Harry Connick, Jr., Tom Cruise, Penelope Cruz, Johnny Damon, Oscar De La Hoya, Celine Dion, Hilary Duff, Roger Federer, Calista Flockhart, Michael J. Fox, Whoopi Goldberg, Melanie Griffith, David Hasselhoff, Ethan Hawke, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sir Ian McKellen and many, many more.

???? e6- PSA: New York City Banks are UN based, not US based
New York City Banks seem to be above the law… It’s because they are. They are international banks because New York City has been taken over by the United Nations. New York City is the fourth Sovereign City-State next to the Vatican City, the City of London, and the City of Washington, District of Columbia.
New York City Banks operate in International United Nations jurisdiction. They comply with US banking codes but are not subject to US Codes due to the International Nature of New York City.
The United States only has the power to fine the international banks despite clear and obvious banking crimes and fraud. The United Nations protects its City banks. Fines are flipped by banks from liabilities to assets and the debt-money to pay the fines are created from thin air. Fines have no effect on the banks.
The banks wait 3 days to cash checks for it to become dishonored so the banks can refinance the check with new debt-money created from thin air. Each check is literally new debt-money for banks.
The New York Federal Reserve is also international in nature and explains its broader banking powers. New York City Banks appear to allow infinite rehypothecation as well, which is to say, the reserve ratio is 0 where banks create debt-money without any reserves what-so-ever.

Powered by - New York City, the largest city in the United States, is home to 5,845 completed high-rises, 97 of which stand taller than 600 feet (183 m). The tallest building in New York is the under-construction One World Trade Center, which rises 1,776 feet (541 m) and was topped out on May 10, 2013. The 104-story skyscraper also stands as the tallest building in the United States, the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere, and the 3rd-tallest building in the world. The tallest completed building in the city is the 102-story Empire State Building in Midtown Manhattan, which was finished in 1931 and rises to 1,250 feet (381 m), increased to 1,454 feet (443 m) by its antenna. It also is the fourth-tallest building in the United States and the 23rd-tallest building in the world. The Empire State Building stood as the tallest building in the world from its completion until 1972, when the 110-story North Tower of the original World Trade Center was completed. At 1,368 feet (417 m), One World Trade Center briefly held the title as the world's tallest building until the completion of the 108-story Sears Tower (now known as the Willis Tower) in Chicago in 1974. The World Trade Center towers were destroyed by terrorist attacks in 2001, and the Empire State Building regained the title of tallest building in the City. The third-tallest building in New York is the Bank of America Tower, which rises to 1,200 feet (366 m), including its spire. Tied for fourth-tallest are the 1,046-foot (319 m) Chrysler Building, which was the world's tallest building from 1930 until 1931, and the New York Times Building, which was completed in 2007.

The 38-year-old rapper purchased the home which Evander had to sell to a bank at a public auction as part of a foreclosure for $7.5 million in 2012.
The enormous 54,000 square-foot mansion sits on 235 acres and is the largest single family home in the state of Georgia.
Located outside of Atlanta, the compound features 109 rooms, including 12 bedrooms and an astonishing 21 bathrooms.
Other amenities include a bowling alley, home theater and a 350,000 gallon pool.
If that wasn't lavish enough, there's also a seven-stall barn, baseball field with lights and a scoreboard, an indoor pool, separate boxing gym, recording studio, and guest house.
Holyfield once claimed the home cost more than $1 million annually to maintain with an electric bill reportedly costing $17,000 a month.
The mansion has been among the sources of the boxer’s financial problems, which also include constant court battles over child support payments.
According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, the 51-year-old heavyweight champ has 12 children by six women and has battled child support cases in Georgia, Texas and California.
