New York City Walking Tour by New York Tour1-Part 1: Midtown Manhattan
I took an awesome and very informative nine hour walking tour of New York City with New York Tour1 (newyorktour1.com) and our fantastic guide Bobby. It was 94 degrees with almost 100% humidity but that didn't stop us from having a great time in The Big Apple. This video is Part 1 and covers Midtown Manhattan including Times Square, the Diamond District, St. Patrick's Cathedral, Rockefeller Center, Top of the Rock (with views of Empire State Building, Chrysler Building, and Freedom Tower), Radio City Music Hall, Bryant Park, New York Public Library, Grand Central Station, and the underground subway.

NEW YORK CITY | cinematic travel video and sightseeing trip of NYC
Our cinematic travel video of our New York City (NYC) trip.
We really enjoyed climbing the steep spiral staircase to the crown of the Statue of Liberty. The entire Liberty Island was a great experience. We also caught the live Broadway show Finding Neverland, which was a genuine delight. The observatory at One World Trade Center gave us breathtaking views of Manhattan and beyond. In Central Park, our favorite locations included the Mall, Strawberry Fields (John Lennon Memorial), the Conservatory Garden, and Belvedere Castle.

The local bakeries are awesome! Take the metro subway around Manhattan to avoid the traffic and general craziness on the streets. We stumbled upon a free outdoor concert at Bryant Park, which also has a carousel and fresh Belgian wafel vendor. We'd also highly recommend a sunset harbor dinner cruise on Spirit Cruises, and dinner at ONE Dine at the One World Observatory.
Footage includes Bryant Park, Lower Manhattan skyline, the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, Corner Bagel Shop, Macy's Department Store, Lunt-Fontanne Theatre, Imagine: the John Lennon Memorial, the Hudson River from One World Trade Center, the Empire State Building, geese, squirrels, a horse-drawn carriage, bubble making, The Immigrants monument in Battery Park, Chinese erhu player, The American Immigrant Wall of Honor at Ellis Island, Times Square, Yankee Stadium, and the 9/11 Memorial.

From Wikipedia:
Midtown Manhattan is the central portion of the borough of Manhattan in New York City. Midtown is home to some of the city's most iconic buildings, including the Empire State Building, the Chrysler Building, the Hudson Yards Redevelopment Project, the headquarters of the United Nations, Grand Central Terminal, and Rockefeller Center, as well as Broadway and Times Square.
Midtown Manhattan is the largest central business district in the world and ranks among the most expensive pieces of real estate; Fifth Avenue in Midtown Manhattan commands the world's highest retail rents, with average annual rents at US$3,000 per square foot ($32,000/m2) in 2017. However, due to the high price of retail spaces in Midtown, there are also many vacant storefronts in the neighborhood. Midtown is the country's largest commercial, entertainment, and media center, and also a growing financial center.
The majority of New York City's skyscrapers, including its tallest hotels and apartment towers, are in Midtown. The area hosts commuters and residents working in its offices, hotels, and retail establishments, tourists and students. Times Square, the brightly illuminated hub of the Broadway Theater District, is a major center of the world's entertainment industry. Sixth Avenue also has the headquarters of three of the four major U.S. television networks.
Midtown is part of Manhattan Community District 5. It is patrolled by the 14th and 18th Precincts of the New York City Police Department.

5 Top-Rated Day Trips from New York City | the United States Day Tours Guide
5 Top-Rated Day Trips from New York City, USA
New York City has so much to offer that many tourists, and even the locals, never venture outside of Manhattan. However, it is well worth escaping the urban jungle to spend time in the peaceful, picturesque surroundings. Charming historic towns are scattered around the idyllic countryside of New York State. Especially beautiful in late spring, summer, and autumn, the landscape features forested rolling hills and lush valleys. Tourists only need to take a one-hour train ride to arrive at the colonial-era village of Sleepy Hollow, a delightful place brimming with Old World ambience and famous for the Legend of the Headless Horseman. For an immersion in vintage American charm, take the train from NYC to the quaint rural community of Cold Spring or to the lovely Victorian-era city of Beacon. To go hiking in rugged, unspoiled terrain, head to Bear Mountain. Several of the attractions on this list are within greater New York City but are popular day-trip excursions, like Coney Island, Governors Island, and Rockaway Beach; they're ideal for a fun day of recreation and relaxation. Let's see fie day trips from New York, United States.
1. The Colonial-Era Villages of Sleepy Hollow and Tarrytown
2. Hiking and Cycling at Bear Mountain
3. Summertime Fun in Coney Island
4. Governors Island
5. Princeton University and Town

New York City - Video tour of the Meatpacking District, Manhattan (Part 2)
Hello and welcome for another video tour of a great New York neighborhood by New York Habitat ( ). Today's video will be the second video tour dedicated to the Meatpacking District, a small neighborhood in Manhattan, New York, one of New York's most fashionable neighborhoods! You can watch Part 1 of our Video Tour here:
Feel free to watch other great video tours of New York neighborhoods ( ), such as ChinaTown ( or Financial District (
The Meatpacking District is bordered by west 14th street to the north, Gansevoort Street to the south, the Hudson River to the west and Hudson Street to the east. It is located between two other famous neighborhoods, Chelsea to the North and the West Village to the south.
In our first episode, we shared the history of the Meatpacking District, including its transformation in the 90s with the arrival of high end retailers. In this edition we will look at some other famous places as well as the shopping and dining options in the area.
Shopping Scene
On 14th Street you will find some of the most well-known international designers' stores including Diane von Furstenberg, Carlos Miele, Alexander McQueen and Stella McCartney. But there are also some retailers a bit outside the mainstream that you won't want to miss.
Vitra (29 9th Avenue)
If you are interested in seeing the modern classics as well as the new and innovative, check out the furniture store, Vitra.
If you are in the Meatpacking during the day, and you're exhausted from shopping, take a break and look inside some of the more popular art galleries in the district:
Wooster Projects (418 W. 15th St)
You'll find Wooster Projects, an unassuming gallery, on West 15th St. It a Museum Mile-quality collection, that intermittently displays works by such famed artists as Andy Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat, and David Hockney, among others.
Ground Zero Museum Workshop (420 West 14th Street)
Head over to Ground Zero Museum Workshop, known as the Biggest LITTLE Museum in New York. Rare photos and artifacts collected during the recovery period at Ground Zero can be seen here.
Apartments in the West Village -- Meat Packing District Area
If you'd like to experience the Meatpacking District like a true local, you should rent a vacation rental or furnished apartment from New York Habitat. There's no better way to experience this city than to live in a real New York apartment.
For example we have this fully furnished 1-bedroom apartment ( located right on the border of the Meatpacking District and Chelsea. The bedroom is furnished with a double sized bed and there is a queen sized futon in the living room for additional sleeping room. The kitchen is fully equipped, complete with the convenience of a dishwasher.
Another great choice is this fully furnished studio ( also located just north of the Meatpacking District. This apartment provides for many different sleeping arrangements with a queen sized bed, double bed and a double sofa bed. The kitchen is fully equipped and there is television with cable channels, air conditioning, and the convenience of laundry access in the building.
You'll also want to go out in the Meatpacking to experience all that it has to offer. You're sure to have a good time in this high style neighborhood.
For a few great places to eat, check out these Meatpacking hotspots: Fig and Olive at 420 West 13th Street, Pastis at 9 9th Ave, Budda Bar at 25 Little West 12th Street, Macelleria at 48 Gansevoort Street.
And if you're looking for some bars and lounges, here are a few to get you started:
The Hotel Gansevoort Rooftop Bar/Lounge at 18 9th Avenue, at 13th Street, The Boom Boom Room in the Standard Hotel at 848 Washington St (at W. 13th St), The Standard Beer Garden - 848 Washington St (between Little W 12th St & 13th St).
The Meatpacking District is about 2 or 3 miles from Central Park, but if you're looking for a quick escape from the city, you'll find a small park at 14th St Park at 10th Avenue or the newly constructed High Line Park.

So Why book a vacation rental in New York from New York Habitat? Here are some great reasons:
• Vacation Rentals are Economical! You get more for your money and pay less than a hotel. Vacation Rentals have more space. - Forget the cramped hotel room. Most Apartments have a living and sleeping space plus a kitchen.
• Apartments have an equipped kitchen - Eating out three meals per day can get expensive. With 9a kitchen, you can cook at home, eat healthy and save money!
• Vacation Rentals are big enough for the whole family and/or friends to stay together. Why stay in separate hotel rooms when you can all stay together under the same roof?
• Feel like a local - Don't walk out of the hotel lobby, walk out of your front door, onto the streets of New York. You're a local now!
• Keep your keys like at home - Make a vacation rental your home away from home.
• No hidden fees - Unlike hotels, you won't be hit with phone bills, or an invoice for drinking that bottled water from the fridge. With Vacation Rentals, all utility charges are included and you decide what to stock in your fridge... at local market prices.
So those are a few really good reasons to book a vacation rental over a Hotel room in New York. And if you're coming to New York, there are some other great options or extras you can get.
• Houses - Houses in Manhattan? Yes! Townhouses, historical homes and classic brownstones will provide comfort and space. Especially if you're traveling in a group.
• Laundry - As airlines continue to reduce the permitted size of suitcases and charge more for extra luggage, we are all packing less for our vacations. Book a vacation rental with laundry facilities and you'll be able to make do with a smaller wardrobe.
