New York City | Empire state building
Visited the Empire State Building in New York, saw King Kong inside, a nice going up and going down video presentation inside the elevator, on the 86 floor a view of manhattan.
Description:
The Empire State Building is a 102-story[c] Art Deco skyscraper in Midtown Manhattan, New York City. It was designed by Shreve, Lamb & Harmon and completed in 1931. The building has a roof height of 1,250 feet (380 m) and stands a total of 1,454 feet (443.2 m) tall, including its antenna. Its name is derived from Empire State, the nickname of New York, which is of unknown origin. The Empire State Building stood as the world's tallest building for nearly 40 years until the construction of the World Trade Center's North Tower in Lower Manhattan in late 1970. Following the September 11 attacks in 2001, it was again the tallest building in New York City until it was surpassed by the new One World Trade Center in 2012. As of 2019, the building is the seventh-tallest building in New York City, the sixth-tallest completed skyscraper in the United States, and the 45th-tallest in the world. It is also the sixth-tallest freestanding structure in the Americas.

The Resident: NYC sued over NYPD's Operation Lucky Bag
The NYPD's Operation Lucky Bag has spurred a new class action lawsuit from people claiming they were arrested illegally. Operation Lucky Bag is a sting operation where the police leave a bag filled with goods, like cash or iPads, unattended in a public place. When a person picks up the bag, the police arrest them for not returning lost goods, effectively accusing them of stealing. While the police outline scenarios where this could be construed as legal, the law clearly states that a person has 10 days to return lost goods with a value of $10 or more. The Resident (aka Lori Harfenist) discusses the recent lawsuits against the city involving Operation Lucky Bag.

They say if you can make it in New York, you can make it anywhere. It turns out that applies to us as much as it does to rare birds. For the past decade, Steve Baldwin has been tracking the wild parrots of Brooklyn. And while they're not native to the Borough of Trees, they are here to stay.

What caused a riot in 18th Century NYC involving cadavers?
The New-York Historical Society and NYC Media, the official network of the City of New York, have partnered to produce a special series of one minute videos that feature the staff of the New York Historical Society as they answer some of the most captivating questions about the City's history.
Rioters destroyed laboratories in the New-York Hospital, chased the doctors into the City Jail, and ransacked their homes in search of cadavers they believed had been stolen for dissection. Five of the mob were killed by the militia. The Doctor's Riot of 1788 began when a curious boy observed a dissection and then discovered his very recently-deceased mother's body was missing.
Frank Sinatra - New York, New York
The City of New York, commonly called New York City and New York, has been the most populous city in the United States since 1790, while the New York metropolitan area ranks among the most populous urban areas in the world. A leading global city located in the state of New York, it exerts a powerful influence over worldwide commerce, finance, culture, fashion and entertainment. As host of United Nations headquarters, New York is also an important center for international affairs.
Many neighborhoods and landmarks in the city have become world-famous. The Statue of Liberty greeted millions of immigrants as they came to America in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Wall Street, in Lower Manhattan, has been a dominant global financial center since World War II and is home to the New York Stock Exchange. The city has been home to several of the tallest buildings in the world, including the Empire State Building and the twin towers of the former World Trade Center.

Theme from New York, New York (or New York, New York) is the theme song from the Martin Scorsese film New York, New York (1977), composed by John Kander, with lyrics by Fred Ebb. It was written for and performed in the film by Liza Minnelli. It was suggested to him by Howard Huntridge, an English Television producer, during a meeting at Caesars Palace Las Vegas in 1977. The song has been embraced as a celebration of New York City, and is popular particularly at public social events in the city, lending it a quasi-status as the city's anthem.
In 1979, it was recorded by Frank Sinatra, for his album Trilogy: Past Present Future (1980), and has since become closely associated with him. He occasionally performed it live with Minnelli as a duet. Sinatra recorded it a second time in duet with Tony Bennett for his 1993 album Duets.
The song did not become a popular hit until it was picked up in concert by Frank Sinatra during his performances at Radio City Music Hall in October 1978. Subsequently, Sinatra recorded it in 1979 for his 1980 Trilogy set (Reprise Records), and it became one of his signature songs. The single peaked at #32 in June 1980, becoming his final Top Forty charting hit. Sinatra made two more studio recordings of the song in 1981 (for his NBC TV special The Man and His Music) and 1993 (for Capitol Records). From the latter, an electronic duet with Tony Bennett was produced for Sinatra's Duets album.
The lyrics of the Sinatra versions differ slightly from Ebb's original lyrics. Notably, the phrase A-number-one, which does not appear at all in the original lyrics, is sung twice at the song's rallentando climax. (Ebb has said he didn't even like Sinatra's use of A-number-one).[1] The phrase is both the first and fourth on a list of four superlative titles the singer strives to achieve — A-number-one, top of the list, king of the hill, A-number-one — where Ebb's original lyrics (performed by Minnelli) were king of the hill, head of the list, cream of the crop, at the top of the heap.
Despite Sinatra's version becoming more familiar, original singer Minnelli had two of the tune's most memorable live performances -- during the July 4, 1986 ceremony marking the rededication of the Statue of Liberty after extensive renovations, and in the middle of the seventh inning of a New York Mets game that was the first pro sports event in the metro area after the September 11, 2001 attacks. She also sang it in the Olympic stadium during the 1984 Summer Olympics, accompanied by 24 pianos and strobe lights.

Start spreading the news, I'm leaving today
I want to be a part of it - new york, new york
These vagabond shoes, are longing to stray
Right through the very heart of it - new york,
new york
I wanna wake up in a city, that doesn't sleep
And find I'm king of the hill - top of the heap
These little town blues, are melting away
I'll make a brand new start of it - in old new
york
If I can make it there, I'll make it anywhere
It's up to you - new york, new york
New york, new york
I want to wake up in a city, that never sleeps
And find I'm a number one top of the list, king
of the hill
A number one
These little town blues, are melting away
I'm gonna make a brand new start of it - in old

And if I can make it there, I'm gonna make it

Why it’s (mostly) illegal to drone in NYC
I'm an FAA-certified drone pilot, but there are four reasons I can't fly drones in New York City:
1) FAA Part 107 says you can't fly over people.
2) NYC Parks prohibit drones.
3) Most of NYC is Class B airspace.
4) City administrative code: Drones are illegal
But there are 5 New York City Parks where you CAN fly:
