Central Park Tour (New York)
Before heading home we took a tour of the famous Central Park in the heart of Manhattan on a 1 hrs bicycle tour. It was fast and convenient, however, the tour was slightly quicker and didn't have time to see everything. Would not recommend for future tourist to take the bike tour. We only got chance to visit the Baltom, Bethesda Fountain, and Minton Tile Ceiling at Bethesda Terrace and many mores.

Syracuse, New York: Downtown Driving Tour (August, 2019)
A Sunday morning driving tour of downtown Syracuse, New York. Included is a bit of an excursion to the Syracuse University campus. The video was taken August 18, 2019.
Seen in the video are the AXA Towers, the tallest buildings in the city. Built in 1966 and 1971, both stand 268 feet or 81.7 metres and contain 19 floors. The State Tower Building is also prominently seen. This structure is 311 feet in height and was built in 1928.
The Onondaga County Courthouse is also seen, a historic structure that was built in 1907.
The video ends up around the Oncenter War Memorial Arena. This sports venue opened in 1951 and houses the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League.

The borders of Hamilton Heights are 135th Street to the south, 155th Street to the north, the Hudson River to the west and Edgecombe Avenue to the east.
History:
Hamilton Heights is a neighborhood within the area of Harlem and it takes its name after Alexander Hamilton, the first U.S. Secretary of the Treasury, who lived there in the last few years of his life.
Hamilton Grange National Memorial
Alexander Hamilton came to New York at the age of 17 to study at King's College, which is now Columbia University. He later became a politician and built his federal style house at this location in 1802, which is called Hamilton Grange National Memorial. One of the most interesting moments of Hamilton's life was actually his death. He died on July 12, 1804 as a result of being mortally wounded from a pistol duel the day before with Aaron Burr, who was, at the time, the Vice President of the United States! In those days dueling politicians was not just a figure of speech!
Dance Theatre of Harlem
The Dance Theatre of Harlem is a ballet company and school which was created to introduce ballet and dance to the children of Harlem. Today it has grown into a multi-cultural company which offers training in ballet, choreography and music to people of all ages.
The Harlem School of the Arts
The Harlem School of the Arts was founded in 1964 to create an opportunity for the children of Harlem to be exposed to and to learn musical instruments. It started with piano lessons and later violin, drama, visual arts and dance classes were added.
Sugar Hill
Sugar Hill is a neighborhood within Hamilton Heights. In the 1920s this area was inhabited by wealthy African-American people who had such a sweet lifestyle that it was given the name Sugar Hill. It has since been declared an historic district due to the amazing rowhouses that have been preserved in the district
City College of New York
City College of New York was the first public college in the United States. It was founded in order to give the opportunity to immigrant youth to attend college. City College occupies a large part of the Hamilton heights section of Harlem, from 130th to 141st Streets, and has many historical buildings and monuments on its campus.
Riverbank State Park
Riverbank State Park occupies 28 acres of land in Hamilton Heights along the Hudson River. Inspired by the urban rooftop designs in Japan, this park was built on several levels, which makes it very unusual and different from the other parks in New York City. This park offers many outdoor sports activities.

Things NOT To Do in New York
New York City is often referred to as the greatest city in the world and we can see why. Just the energy alone is magnetic. But before you consider yourself an NYC expert, check out these 13 things you should not do in the Big Apple.
1. Don't buy a Sandwich from Subway
NYC offers some of the best fresh delicatessens in the world like the Carnegie Deli, Artie’s Delicatessen and 2nd Avenue Deli on 33rd street. But avoid Katz’s as it has turned into a huge tourist trap.
2. Don't Get into an Empty Subway Car
There’s a reason that it’s empty. Either the A/C isn’t working or there’s spilled bodily fluid or something is up. Trust us!
3. Don't Stop on the Sidewalk
Do not be that tourist that stops in the middle of the sidewalk to look at a map or to take a photo. New Yorkers are speed-walking pros so don’t impede the flow.
4. Don't Make Small Talk
New Yorkers are not necessarily known for their calm, patient, friendly demeanor, so don't expect to spark up idle chit chat on the street. They're usually happy to give directions but only to prove how well they know the city.
5. Don't Eat at a Chain Restaurant
Locals avoid Times Square like the plague as it is a tourist trap with lots of chain restaurants and visitors wearing “I LOVE NY” t-shirts (oh, yeah avoid this too). Patronize the myriad of local restaurants to really experience the authentic flavors of the city.
6. Don't Avoid the Outer Boroughs
Manhattan is usually what most people think of when they visit New York, but there are four other boroughs to explore too. Take the subway to Queens, the Bronx, Brooklyn or Staten Island and discover the unique charm of greater New York City.
7. Don't Pay for a Statue of Liberty Tour
Avoid this outrageously priced tour and take the Staten Island ferry instead. The 50 minute round-trip ride passes most of the same sights and is completely free of charge.
8. Don't Skip a Museum Because of the Entry Fee
The entry fee that you see for most of New York's world renowned museums is just a suggested amount. You actually only have to pay what you can afford.
9. Don't Use an ATM Inside of a Store
Some store owners that don’t accept credit cards but provide a convenient ATM inside their shops. However, it's a trap! These machines often charge an excessive withdrawal fee!
10. Don't Assume It’s Safe to Cross the Street
Many tourists wander across the street because they see groups of other people doing so. Fast-walking New Yorkers will make it safely to the other side because they have the well-honed instincts of a local. You, however, do not. Wait for the pedestrian light if you value your life.
11. Don't Tell the Cab Driver Where You’re Going Before Getting In
This way the picky driver won't be able to tell you they’re not going that far. Hail the cab, hop in and then explain where you’d like to go. Use the subway or walk as much as possible, because taxis will most likely end up stuck in gridlock traffic.
12. Don't Be a Scam Victim
Don’t buy blank CD's from aspiring young rappers or be fooled by the man dressed in a suit asking for bus fare. Avoid playing card games on the street and watch your wallet in large crowds. New York is full of scam artists, so keep your guard up.
13. Avoid the High Line on Weekends
This public park built atop an old elevated railway on Manhattan's West Side is definitely worth strolling, but avoid the weekends when it's a wall-to-wall tourist-clogged conveyor belt.

Situated on one of the world's largest natural harbors,[28][29] New York City consists of five boroughs, each of which is a separate county of New York State.[30] The five boroughs – Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, The Bronx, and Staten Island – were consolidated into a single city in 1898.[31] The city and its metropolitan area constitute the premier gateway for legal immigration to the United States,[32] and as many as 800 languages are spoken in New York,[33][34][35] making it the most linguistically diverse city in the world.[34][36][37] New York City is home to more than 3.2 million residents born outside the United States,[38] the largest foreign-born population of any city in the world.[39] In 2013, the tri-state New York Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) produced a gross metropolitan product (GMP) of nearly US$1.4 trillion.[40] If greater New York City were a country, it would have the 12th highest GDP in the world.[41]
New York City traces its origins to a trading post founded by colonists from the Dutch Republic in 1624 on Lower Manhattan; the post was named New Amsterdam in 1626.[42] The city and its surroundings came under English control in 1664[42] and were renamed New York after King Charles II of England granted the lands to his brother, the Duke of York.[43] New York served as the capital of the United States from 1785 until 1790.[44] It has been the country's largest city since 1790.[45] The Statue of Liberty greeted millions of immigrants as they came to the Americas by ship in the late 19th and early 20th centuries[46] and is a world symbol of the United States and its ideals of liberty and peace.[47] In the 21st century, New York has emerged as a global node of creativity and entrepreneurship,[48] social tolerance,[49] and environmental sustainability,[50][51] and as a symbol of freedom and cultural diversity.
