California to New York: A Complete Road Trip
This is a complete road trip compilation from Santa Monica, California to New York City over eight different days from June-September, 2017 - all recorded in time-lapse at 4fps (nearly 100,000 frames total). Of the 3,253 miles (5,235 kilometers) driven, about 3 miles of this drive is missing, mostly in Colorado near Poncha Springs. Nearly all of this drive was done in daytime, but there is about 10 minutes of this video done in darkness in Arizona (about 1:00:00 to 1:10:00). The weather was good for the most part, except from Pennsylvania all the way to the Bronx, before clearing up in Manhattan. This trip also includes driving through the solar eclipse of August 21 in Nebraska (at about 3:30:00), as well as driving over the old Tappan Zee Bridge in upstate NY, which permanently closed a month later with the opening of the new Mario M Cuomo Bridge adjacent to it.

The highest elevation of the drive was 11,539 ft (3,517 m) at 2:28:10. The highest elevation anywhere on the U.S. interstate system is 11,158 ft (3,401 m) at 2:33:41. Both of these elevations are two of the three continental divide crossings; the other, at 2:04:38 (10,856 ft / 3,309 m), is the first.
The hottest temperature of this trip was 110 F (43 C) in Needles, California (about 0:40:16), and the coldest temperature of this trip was 53 F (11 C) in Tusayan, Arizona (about 1:10:04) - only about 230 miles (370 km) from Needles.

The September 11 attacks resulted in 2,996 immediate (attack time) deaths: 2,977 victims and the 19 hijackers. A total of 372 foreign nationals (excluding the 19 perpetrators) perished in the attacks, representing just over 12% of the total. The immediate deaths include 246 victims on the four planes (from which there were no survivors), 2,606 in New York City in the World Trade Center and on the ground, and 125 at the Pentagon. About 292 people were killed at street level by burning debris and falling bodies of those who had jumped or fallen from the World Trade Center's windows.

Starting Point: Park Avenue - .
Park Avenue is a wide New York City boulevard[4] which carries north and southbound traffic in the borough of Manhattan, and is also a wide one-way pair in the Bronx. For most of the road's length in Manhattan, it runs parallel to Madison Avenue to the west and Lexington Avenue to the east. Park Avenue's entire length was formerly called Fourth Avenue; the title still applies below 14th Street.[5] Meanwhile, the section between 14th and 17th Street is called Union Square East, and between 17th and 32nd Streets, the name Park Avenue South is used. In the Bronx, Park Avenue runs in several segments between the Major Deegan Expressway and Fordham Road.[6]
Route
The road that becomes Park Avenue originates as the Bowery. From Cooper Square at 8th Street to Union Square at 14th Street, it is known as Fourth Avenue, a 70-foot-wide (21 m) road carrying northbound traffic. At 14th Street, it turns slightly northeast to align with other avenues drawn up in the Commissioners' Plan of 1811. From 14th Street to 17th Street, it forms the eastern boundary of Union Square and is known as Union Square East; its southbound lanes merge with Broadway south of 15th Street, and the thoroughfare divides into two distinct portions in the one-block section between 14th and 15th Streets. From 17th Street to 32nd Street, it is known as Park Avenue South. Above 32nd Street, for the remainder of its distance, it is known as Park Avenue, a 140-foot-wide boulevard.

1960s TOUR OF THE UNITED STATES CROSS COUNTRY NEW YORK, CALIFORNIA, HAWAII 11484
Viewers are treated to a “Cross Country” tour of the United States in this episode of Jack Douglas’ America! The episode begins by the camera driving down a rural highway in Georgia. An American flag flies at half-mast at the historical site of the Confederate Army’s Andersonville Prison (01:28). The episode shows the national cemetery with its rows of white tombstones, a statue commemorating the fallen soldiers from the state of Iowa, and the Providence Springs fountain (02:51). Two women walk through the garden at the Juliette Gordon Low House in Savannah, GA (03:20). The episode shows a painting of the woman, who founded the Girl Scouts of America. Her niece, Daisy Gordon Lawrence, speaks to the camera about her aunt. Next, in Luray, VA, viewers see the entrance building to Luray Caverns (04:33). A man plays an organ in the caverns, an organ that uses stalactites for its pipes. Aerial views from a helicopter show off the New York City skyline (05:42) as well as the Statue of Liberty. At the Museum of the City of New York (06:05), viewers see the exhibit of the original bedroom of John D. Rockefeller. Evening walk in Midtown New York City in the rain. This will probably be my last rain walking video in New York for a while as I'm back in Washington DC to prepare for my trip to Japan and Iceland.
