American Anthem at MADISON SQUARE GARDEN
Monika Oliveira singing the Brazilian and American Anthems for the Knicks x Bauru Game on October 7th, 2015 with Renato Vasconcellos on keys.
A Brazilian team playing in the world’s most famous arena is a huge accomplishment. A Brazilian singer singing the Brazilian and the American Anthems before the game is never heard of. This was my first time singing the American Anthem. It was an emotional and beautiful experience. I was holding back the tears from the moment I started singing the Brazilian Anthem all the way through the American Anthem. The singing is not perfect. There are better out there, but it is not about perfection. It is about the feeling. It is about making childhood dreams come true, being accepted by the place you call home, and conquering your fears. It is about that Nike comercial. Just Do It!!! Thanks Knicks and Bauru for this honor and unforgettable moment!! I Just Did It. Paz & Energia!!!

???? 1. Meal replacements (protein powders, protein/carb mixes, protein bars, etc.)
2. Micronutrients (vitamins and minerals)
3. The rest, ranging from the better researched items such as creatine to the ever popular steroid replacement or fat burner.
Taking it from the top, training, diet, and recovery will be responsible for 95% of your physique. Supplements are somewhere in the 3-5% range. Protein powders fall somewhat into the diet part and can be very helpful, especially for larger athletes or when traveling.
What about the rest? Glad you asked.
1. Zinc and magnesium deficiencies are very common among athletes, so a ZMA supplement at night will be helpful to restore balance and also help with sleeping.
2. Vitamin D3 levels are chronically low, especially during the upcoming (ugh!) winter months. Think 2,000 to 6,000 IUs a day.
3. Creatine is one of best researched supplements and has proven time and time again to work very well in terms of enhancing recovery and building up strength.
4. Adding Omega 3’s by consuming fatty fish, such as salmon, or a fish oil supplement, has been shown to enhance muscle growth and increase testosterone levels. Up to 3 grams per day of fish oil supplementation is beneficial in order to balance our ratio between dietary Omega 3 and Omega 6.
5. And to answer what everyone really wants to know:
Fat burners = overpriced caffeine pills
Steroid replacements= why would NFL players risk their career using the ” real thing” if they could just take the latest “as seen on CNN” herb?
And just to hammer in what really matters: nothing, not even steroids will work without proper training and diet.

Rare Penny Sells for $1 Million
A Penny Sold for $1 Million - as part of the news series by GeoBeats.
Maybe we shouldn't be so quick to get rid of pennies.
Recently, someone shelled out $1 million for one rare cent. Co-chairman of the Texas Rangers, Bob Simpson purchased a 1943-S Bronze Lincoln Cent.
Professional Coin Grading Service has looked over the coin and certified it as genuine. The penny is one out of four San Francisco Mint Lincoln pennies that were accidentally made of bronze rather than the 1943 standard material of zinc-coated steel.
The PCGS Coin Facts website states, These have become the most famous and valuable of all off-metal errors. Simpson is a known collector of fine coins and refers to his newest acquired penny as priceless.
Earlier this year, rare coins were the reason behind a major court battle between a family and the United States government. In 2003, family members of deceased coin dealer, Israel Switt, claimed to have discovered a safety deposit box containing 10 rare gold coins worth an estimated $80 million. However, they were seized by the US Treasury with no compensation, because the coins had allegedly been stolen decades earlier.

Have You Ever Seen a 1943 Silver Penny?
What's in your wallet? After watching this video, I guarantee you will think twice before tossing out those annoying pennies! It is said that these zinc coated steel pennies are not worth much because there were so many made back in 1943 - even so, only once have I come across this silver- looking penny. And that was decades ago!
However, the 1943 copper penny is the one that is highly sought after... find out more in video, including testing for authenticity.

Innovating for the clean energy economy
Which clean energy solutions are effective, and which need more work? Through explorations of household, city, and regional clean energy innovations and implementation efforts, Professor Daniel Kammen both analyzes successful innovation processes and identifies the areas that need urgent action and targeted programs. A mixture of analytic and empirical studies are used to explore what steps have worked and where dramatic new approaches are needed.
This talk was presented on March 6, 2018 as part of the IHS Markit Seminar Series.

My Daily Life In NORTH KOREA (MYSTERIOUS 7 DAY TRIP)
UPDATE - one year after visiting North Korea I traveled to South Korea and made a video comparing my experiences in both of these two countries. Watch it here: also, if you're thinking of traveling to North Korea yourself, watch this video to see why that might not be a good idea: and think twice before making that decision.
Learn how I started traveling full-time at 19:

I've always been very interested in North Korea because it seemed to be one of the most unique and mysterious countries in the whole world. This is my day to day life throughout the 7 days that I spent in North Korea. You can never be sure whether things were staged or not in North Korea because you are only shown what they want you to see. You can't choose where or when you will be going to specific places, they simply tell you to hop on a bus and ask you to get off at one point or another.
That is why I didn't want to offer my opinion about whether things were staged or not, whether they were good or not, or honest or not. My goal was to show you what my day to day life looked like when I was there and let you make up your own mind and judge for yourself.
Do not judge North Korea only from what you see in this video. This is what they showed us and there's a reason they show some things and not show the others. Also, knowing how much control they exercise over the population, everything could have been staged only for us.
My favorite books about North Korea:
Dear Leader by Jang Jin Sung -
Escape From Camp 14 by Blaine Harden -
Nothing To Envy by Barbara Demick -
1984 by George Orwell (I couldn't believe how similar some things in North Korea looked to the ones in the book) -
