Welcome to Ontario!
Ontario is one of the biggest provinces in Canada and is home to some amazing cities, attractions, and nature ranging from the massive cosmopolitan city of Toronto to the scenic landscapes of Algonquin Provincial Park. From kayaking next to loons to experiencing Canada Day on Parliament Hill, we had such an incredible time in Ontario.
We took a helicopter over Niagara Falls, interviewed refugees in downtown Toronto, experienced the world's largest escape room just outside of Ottawa, and sampled award-winning wines near Niagara-on-the-Lake. We really packed a lot of adventures into our two short weeks in the province and can't wait to return one day and explore the province further.
We explored Ontario from June 28 - July 14, 2017.
Canada's Road to 150 is a 150-day Canada-wide multi-media road trip celebrating Canada's 150th birthday by exploring the uniqueness of this country provincially and collectively while answering the question; What makes Canada special?
We will drive to and through every driveable province and territory, showcasing Canada's natural beauty and regional attractions while interviewing Canadians of all cultures and backgrounds, including local celebrities, immigrants, refugees, and everyday rural and urban Canadians. Our aim is to dig deep into what makes Canada such an incredibly inspiring country while showing off the best of Canada's tourism to Canadians and to the world.

Ontario is a province in east-central Canada that borders the U.S. and the Great Lakes.

I spent about 1 week in Canada working together with Québec Original and the local tourism boards to show you an interesting mix of the best things to do in Québec featuring outdoor adventures, sights and food experiences along the Great Trail.
The Trans Canada Trail, being promoted since 2016 as The Great Trail, is claimed to be the world's longest network of recreational trails.
I got the chance to camp by a lake, canoe, paddle, hike, climb, bike and do horseback riding - all the activities you are able to do along the Great Trail. On top of that I had the chance to fly with a seaplane to get to see the Mauricie region from above.
Even though I had only that little time I managed to cover a big part of Quebec from Gantineau all the way over to Quebec City spending most of my time out in the nature

10. Calgary
The largest city in Alberta, Calgary is situated between the Canadian Prairies and the foothills of the Canadian Rockies. After oil was discovered nearby in the early 1900s, Calgary boomed into what is now one of Canada’s largest metropolitan areas, attracting thousands every year to its world-famous rodeo event, the Calgary Stampede. This Old West celebration is held over ten days in July with rodeos, chuckwagon races, parades, competitions, crafts and food.
9. Ottawa
Located at the confluence of the Ottawa, Gatineau and Rideau rivers in southeastern Ontario, Ottawa is the capital of Canada. As the nation’s capital, Ottawa is home to many financial, commercial and federal establishments including Parliament Hill, the government seat where the ceremonial Changing of the Guard takes place daily during the summer. Running right through the heart of the city, the Rideau Canal is Ottawa’s star attraction. In winter the canal becomes the world’s largest ice skating ring.
8. Whistler
Thanks to a couple of spectacular mountains called Whistler and Blackcomb, the Whistler resort is the largest and most famous alpine ski destination in North America. Located in the Coast Mountains of British Columbia, Whistler is a two-hour trip from Vancouver along Canada’s most scenic drive, the Sea-to-Sky Highway. Boasting the largest French-speaking community outside of Paris, France, Montreal is a bustling metropolis comprised of a downtown district, a historic quarter, entertainment district and several distinctive neighborhoods. Montreal’s main sights include downtown skyscrapers like the Olympic Tower, the historic buildings of Old Montreal and several family attractions like theme and water parks.
3. Niagara Falls, Ontario
Niagara Falls is a series of three awe-inspiring waterfalls situated on the border of Canada’s Ontario and the United States’ New York. The Ontario side of the Falls is called Horseshoe Falls and offers the best views and most attractions.

Located in the province of Alberta, the Banff National Park is not only Canada’s first national park, but also one of the nation’s largest and most visited national parks. The park’s breathtaking scenery and wildlife draw many tourists every year along the Trans-Canada Highway, which passes through the park.

From May 27th to June 6th, 2017, we toured Nova Scotia as part of the Road to 150 campaign. It was our second province during our 150-day road trip and what an incredible time we had. From the absolute natural beauty of Cape Breton Highlands National Park to the historic beauty of Halifax, the small town charm of Lunenburg, and the excitement of tidal bore rafting, Nova Scotia is an incredible province to explore. Although we accomplished a lot in ten days, we really only scratched the surface of this incredible east coast province. Québec is a big province full of history, nature, and diverse cities. As Canada’s only primarily French speaking province, it’s quite different than the rest of the country. Also, due to the complicated history between the English and the French, Québec has always strived to create and keep its own identity, which is quite apparent in the pride they have for their own flag and other cultural practices. We learned so much during our time in the province and had a lot of fun exploring the cities and the surrounding nature.
With historical cities like Old Québec, diverse cities like Montreal, and natural attractions like Mont Tremblant and the St. Lawrence Saguenay Seaway, Québec is an exciting province to explore.
