Dalby is a locality and short-lived former Latin Catholic diocese situated in Lund Municipality, Skåne County, Sweden with 6464 inhabitants in 2017. It is located about 10 km East-southeast of Lund, and about 20 km East-northeast of Malmö. Dalby was a municipality up until 1974, when it became part of Lund municipality. Between 1941 and 1954, Dalby was also a municipal urban area . The Dalby Söderskog national park is situated just northwest of Dalby. The old quarry Stenbrottet is located a couple of kilometres east of Dalby. It's a popular place for swimming and fishing and for couples to become engaged.

  • 2. Dalby Soderskog Dalby
    Dalby Söderskog is a small national park in the province of Scania in southern Sweden, situated in the municipality of Lund, near Dalby. It has an area of 0.36 km2 and consists of broadleaf forest. It was established in 1918, when it was thought to be a unique remnant of primeval forest. In fact, the area has previously been used for pasture. The ground contains much limestone and chalk, which makes the flora rich. In particular, there are many spring flowers. An earth bank of unknown origin, possibly the ruins of an ancient fort, surrounds parts of the park. The national park encompasses the southern part of Dalby hage, while the northern parts form a nature reserve.

    Ale's Stones is a megalithic monument in Scania in southern Sweden. It is a stone ship, oval in outline, with the stones at each end markedly larger than the rest. It is 67 m long formed by 59 large boulders, weighing up to 1.8 tonnes each. The carbon-14 dating system for organic remains has provided seven results at the site. One indicates that the material is around 5,500 years old whereas the remaining six indicate a date about 1,400 years ago. The latter is considered to be the most likely time for Ales Stenar to have been created. That would place its creation towards the end of the Nordic Iron Age.

    Stenshuvud is a hill in the southeastern corner of Sweden, in the province of Scania, close to Kivik in Simrishamn Municipality. Since 1986, it is one of the National parks of Sweden. The park covers an area of about 3.9 km2 . The hill is 97 m high and faces the Baltic Sea. Since the surrounding landscape is relatively flat, it can be seen from a great distance and has traditionally been used as a landmark for seafarers. Many visitors trek up the hill to enjoy the view which is very good in clear weather. Most of the area is covered with broadleaf forest, especially European hornbeam.     Ven is a small Swedish island in the Øresund strait, between Scania and Zealand . It is part of Landskrona Municipality, Skåne County. The island has 371 inhabitants and an area of 7.5 km2 . During the 1930s, the population was at its peak, with approximately 1,300 inhabitants. There are four villages on the island: Bäckviken, Tuna By, Norreborg and Kyrkbacken.
