Eveleth is a city in Saint Louis County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 3,718 at the 2010 census.U.S. Highway 53 and State Highway 37 are two of the main routes in Eveleth. The city briefly entered the national news in October 2002 when U.S. Senator Paul Wellstone, along with seven others, died in a plane crash, two miles away from the airport of Eveleth. It was also the site of the conflict that resulted in the court case Jenson v. Eveleth Taconite Co., and the film North Country, which was based on it. Eveleth is home of the United States Hockey Hall of Fame. Eveleth is part of the Quad Cities of Virginia, Gilbert, and Mountain Iron.

Jay Cooke State Park is a state park of Minnesota, United States, protecting the lower reaches of the St. Louis River. The park is located about 10 miles southwest of Duluth and is one of the ten most visited state parks in Minnesota. The western half of the park contains part of a rocky, 13-mile gorge. This was a major barrier to Native Americans and early Europeans traveling by canoe, which they bypassed with the challenging Grand Portage of the St. Louis River. The river was a vital link connecting the Mississippi waterways to the west with the Great Lakes to the east. Today Minnesota State Highway 210 runs through Jay Cooke State Park. The 9 miles of the route between Carlton and Highway 23—which include the park—are designated the Rushing Rapids Parkway, a state scenic byway.The p...

This segment of the Mesabi Trail travels through Virginia, through Gilbert, then ends just south of McKinley, MN.

Located in northeastern Minnesota between the cities of Grand Rapids and Biwabik, the Mesabi TrailTM is a premier bicycle trail winding through some of the state's prettiest regions. When completed, the trail will travel to Ely, traversing over 145 miles and connecting 28 communities. A superior paved bike trail that is well-mapped and well-maintained, the Mesabi Trail also makes an interesting walking path.
