The Oratory of St John the Baptist is a 14th-century small chapel or prayer hall located in Via Francesco Barocci, in Urbino, Region of the Marche, Italy. The oratory is best known for its late Gothic style fresco cycle (1416) by the brothers Lorenzo and Jacopo Salimbeni.
The subjects include a Madonna dell’Umiltà and a Crucifixion, In addition the oratory has scenes from the life of John the Baptist such as: the Annunciation of Birth; his Baptism of Jesus, Career in Baptizing, and Sermons of St John.
It was the seat of the Confraternity of the same name, which was joined, at the beginning of the twentieth century, also that of St. Anthony the Abbot, for the demolition of the oratory of the same confraternity located near the Mercatale hamlet, and of St. James the Apostle.
Inside you can admire an impressive cycle of frescoes representing the Crucifixion of Christ , in the wall behind the main altar, and the Stories of the life of Saint John the Baptist along the side walls, a masterpiece of the brothers Lorenzo and Jacopo Salimbeni from San Severino Marche , datable between 1415 and 1416. The external façade was the subject of a radical restoration in the Neo - Gothic style at the beginning of the 20th century, designed by Diomede Catalucci .

Emma Villas - Villa Teloni (Marche - San Severino Marche - Macerata)
Set in the pristine green hills of the Marche region, this borgo, which has belonged to the noble Coletti family since1800, has regained its sparkle thanks to careful restoration which was begun in 1996 and completed in 2014-2015. Villa Teloni is characterized by the beautiful park that surrounds the entire property and which includes the little church of the Madonna Santissima della Concezione which dates back to the mid-eighteenth century. The three buildings have been restored, keeping their original architectural charm intact but, at the same time, adding a hint of modernity and present-day comfort. In fact, you will notice the contrast between the exposed wooden ceiling beams and the contemporary furnishings that bestow a special atmosphere upon the borgo. Guests can relax by the pool, enjoy a good book thanks to the various meditation spots that have been specially created within the park or enjoy the delicacies of this land under the magnificent portico that starts from the main building and continues up to the church entrance. The more adventurous of the guests can explore the historical and cultural areas of the hinterland of the Sibillini Mountains, from the splendid Piazza del Popolo in San Severino to the Adriatic Sea and Mount Conero. Immerso nel verde delle colline incontaminate delle Marche, questo borgo appartenuto alla famiglia nobile Coletti sin dal 1800, è tornato a splendere grazie ad un’accurata ristrutturazione iniziata con una prima fase nel 1996 e perfezionata nel 2014-2015. Villa Teloni è caratterizzata da un bellissimo parco che avvolge tutta la proprietà e può comprendere al suo interno anche la chiesina della Madonna Santissima della Concezione risalente alla metà del XVIII secolo. I 3 edifici sono stati recuperati mantenendo intatto il fascino architettonico originale, cercando però di portare una tinta di modernità e confort dei giorni d’oggi. Infatti all’interno sarà possibile notare il contrasto tra le travi a vista in legno dei soffitti e gli arredi in stile contemporaneo che conferiscono al borgo un’atmosfera particolare. I clienti durante il soggiorno potranno rilassarsi a bordo piscina, immergersi nella lettura grazie ai vari luoghi di meditazione appositamente creati all’interno del parco oppure gustarsi le prelibatezze di questa terra sotto al magnifico porticato che parte dall’edificio principale fino a raggiungere l’ingresso della chiesetta. Montelupone, comune di 3686 abitanti, provincia di Macerata, Marche, Italia. Il centro storico si trova ad un'altitudine di 272 metri s.l.m. e si estende per 34 km². Il territorio è composto dalle tipiche dolci colline marchigiane e si trova a 12 km dal mare Adriatico, a 13 km da Macerata, a 20 km da Loreto, a 9 km da Recanati ed a 48 km da Ancona, capoluogo di regione. Confina con i paesi di Macerata, Recanati, Potenza Picena, Montecosaro e Morrovalle. Nella zona pianeggiante presso la frazione S.Firmano scorre il fiume Potenza. The Romanic church of Saint Nicholas from Tolentino (XIII century) preserves some frescoes of high value in its interior: a cycle of frescoes from the Riminian school of Giotto. This cycle represents the life of Saint Nicholas with a style and shape similar to Giotto's fresco of Saint Francesco from Assisi. As you leave the cappellone, it is pleasant to go through the ancient doorway, which leads to the cloister where you can find some frescoes along the way.
The cycle of frescoes in the Chapel of Saint Nicholas from Tolentino in the town of Tolentino, where the life of Saint Nicholas from Tolentino is narrated, reveals the presence of a Giottesque master of great technique and figurative abilities, alike to no one else in this zone of the Marches: the so-called Master of Tolentino (or Master of the Chapel of Saint Nicholas).
This unknown painter of '300 has created quarrels between art historians over the course of the last century: for some, he is a painter of excellent calibre, for others, a simple disciple of the Riminian Giottesque school.
It is difficult to date his work; certainly, the date of death of Saint Nicholas (1305) is a temporal indication we can be quite sure of, but surely the date of the beginning of this work has to be moved further ahead, perhaps to after 1325 when the process of canonization of Nicholas from Tolentino began under Pope Giovanni XXII, given the fact that the frescoes already depict the saint with a halo.
If the Master of Tolentino was really a Riminian Giottesque painter, he would surely be the most important painter of this school, given the lower quality of technical and pictorial depth of the other representatives of this school.
Very recently, this cycle of frescoes has been attributed to Pietro da Rimini, because of a certain likeness to his frescoes in the Abbey of Pomposa and those of Saint Chiara in Ravenna, even if the technical degree of representation of the latter is remarkably inferior to the frescoes of Tolentino.
The Master of Tolentino denotes a certain roughness quite unlike the Riminians, probably nearer to the Giottesques of Florence and also to the Giottesques of the school of Bologna. What we can be sure of is the fact that he has visited and possibly worked in Assisi, where he assimilated the lessons of Giotto but also those of Jacopo Torriti from Rome. There is also a certain closeness in the research of colours of Pietro Cavallini, especially regarding the use of bright colours and the bands of partition between the different frescoes, painted in the cosmatesca way, which was in use by the Roman Gothics of '200-'300.
You will also find the roughness of the Master d'Isacco in Assisi, who some people believe was a very young Giotto searching for his own style so that it wouldn't be obscured by the fame of his master Cimabue any longer, but in the frescoes of Tolentino there are also some faces which bring us to think of Simone Martini of the frescoes of Assisi of Saint Martino.

San Severino. Dal 14 al 16 settembre Mostra Mercato Attività Produttive
Dal 14 al 16 settembre l'ovale di Piazza del Popolo a San Severino Marche ospita la 28esima Mostra Mercato Attività Produttive. Oltre all'inaugurazione ufficiale di venerdì pomeriggio, sabato mattina si svolgerà un convegno sulla digitalizzazione ed in serata ritorna la sfilata di moda. Domenica spazio invece al ballo. Come nelle edizioni precedenti tante attività commerciali saranno in piazza nei tre giorni.
Provincia di Macerata - Vivere l'emozione dell'Italia autentica
La Provincia di Macerata si estende tra i fiumi Potenza a nord e Tenna a sud, e ad occidente dalla catena dei Monti Sibillini. La sua superficie totale è di circa 2.774 kmq e la popolazione di 324,369 abitanti.
