    The Chichester Canal is a navigable canal in England. It runs 4.5 miles from the sea at Birdham on Chichester Harbour to Chichester through two locks. The canal was opened in 1822 having taken three years to build. When completed the canal could take ships of up to 100 tons. Dimensions were limited to 85 feet long 18 feet wide and a draft of up to 7 feet .

    The River Wey Navigation and Godalming Navigation, geographically the Wey Navigation, form a continuous waterway which provides a 20-mile navigable route from the River Thames between Weybridge and Hamm Court, Addlestone via Guildford to Godalming. The Wey Navigation connects to the Basingstoke Canal at West Byfleet, and the Godalming Navigation part to the Wey and Arun Canal in the Broadford part of Shalford.     The Manhood Peninsula is the southwestern part of Sussex in England. It has the English Channel to its south and Chichester to the north. The peninsula is bordered to its west by Chichester Harbour and to its east by Pagham Harbour, its southern headland being Selsey Bill. Historically the Manhood Peninsula was known as the Hundred of Manhood. It was probably founded during the Anglo-Saxon period and had its own courts and local government until the system of hundreds was abolished by act of Parliament in the 19th century.
