5 Days Backpacking Yosemite - Sep '17
In September 2017, me and some friends went on a backpacking trip to the Grand Canyon of Tuolumne in Yosemite National Park. We spent 5 days, 4 nights hiking a 57 mile loop.

Yosemite National Park's Firefall lasted about only 20 minutes, however, for many visitors who make the painstaking trip, it's lasting memory to see a true spectacle of Mother Nature.

Camping at Yosemite Lakes Thousand Trails RV Resort
We camped at Yosemite Lakes Thousand Trails RV Resort for the first time in our new motor home. we had a great time there and really recommend this park.Best part about camping here is that Yosemite is just 5 miles to the entrance into the park.

Backpacking Lone Eagle Peak and Crater Lake (2019)
Join D’n’A Ventures for their very first backpacking trip through the Indian Peaks Wilderness just outside of Rocky Mountain National Park, near the town of Granby, Colorado. This hike is rated as difficult and will require a 14.9 round trip hike up 2,000 ft. in elevation through a massive valley to pristine backcountry. Starting from the Monarch Lake Trailhead, we hike up for 7.3 miles passing a raging waterfall called Cascade Falls. Eventually we reach the alpine lakes of Mirror and Crater Lake that sit under the infamous Lone Eagle Peak and Mt. Achonee of the Continental Divide. Lone Eagle Peak is a jagged mountain with and epic and iconic look to it. Lone Eagle Peak sits at an elevation of 11,920 feet in elevation and its majestic beauty is reflected in Mirror and Crater Lakes that lie beneath it. Hiking around Crater and Mirror Lake in the summer provides a myriad of opportunities to see countless waterfalls, unique wildlife and endless blooms of wildflowers. This place is serene and the effort require to get up there is met with a massive payoff. Crater Lake sits in a huge bowl under steep snow covered cliffs of a cirque. The stillness of the alpine lakes, the silence of the backcountry, and a vivid gaze into the Milky Way are sure to leave a lasting impact all who journey to this special place. Permits for backcountry sites are in high demand and challenging to acquire during the summer and fall months, plan ahead to reserve a campsite. Fires are not allowed in the backcountry, all water taken from the site should be filtered, and leave no trace policies should be followed to help persevere this amazing place for future generations. Unfortunately on our first backpacking trip ever, D’n’A Ventures made the rookie mistake of carrying way too much gear in our backpacks. It’s important to not make this mistake and try to bring only the bear necessities. Your back, neck, and shoulders will thank you. Since D’n’A Ventures has a little experience backpacking now if you want to us make videos covering this topic more thoroughly please comment down below. Overall this was the backpacking trip of a life time, we feel so fortunate we were able to experience this fantastic place. We want to take this opportunity to thank our dear friends who organized and planned this backpacking adventure, we are super grateful you included us in the journey as well as, providing excellent backpacking tips pre and post trip. Thanks homies.

Yosemite National Park Private Tour Featuring Half Dome
Yosemite Half Dome is one of the most recognizable features on the planet, but, until you personally visit the site and see it for yourself, there is no way that it can truly be appreciated.
Yosemite National Park in California is one of the most beautiful and enchanting natural wonders of the world.
The geological value alone boggles the mind, as we attempt to comprehend the ability of Mother Nature to create giant glaciers, giant cliffs and giant sequoia trees, over a long period of time. A very long period of time.
Half Dome is visible from many locations throughout Yosemite Park with several vantage points and turn outs to give tourists many opportunities to take a picture or video to share with others.
If you’re considering a visit to Yosemite National Park, I highly recommend that you take a private tour with one of the most informative tour guides that I know…
Tony Rojas at
Tony knows Yosemite, loves Yosemite and will help you create a lasting memory of your visit by creating a customized tour Just For YOU!
Per Wikipedia: An image of Half Dome, along with John Muir and the California Condor, appears on the California State quarter, released in January 2005. Starting October 2010, an image of Half Dome is included on the new revised California drivers license in the top right-hand corner.
Yosemite National Park: Backpacking Trip
Four day trip into Yosemite National Park.
Climbing Half Dome Cables in Yosemite National Park with a VR 360° Camera
I've you've ever wondered what it was like to climb Half Dome, here's your chance. On June 17, 2019 I ascended Half Dome with my two sons and a group of other determined hikers as part of a tour with Lasting Adventures. The trip was exhausting and wonderful. And climbing Half Dome is terrifying and wonderful.
This is the whole trip. Our group paused to rest along the way so I cut those parts out, but this is the entire route of the famed cables. If you get bored in the middle, be sure to fast forward to 12:45 when I reach the top. There is some cool footage on top of Half Dome.
This is best viewed on a smartphone or with some VR goggles. That way you can look right, left, behind, up and down.
If you're planning a trip, make sure you're in pretty good shape. Also make sure you have great hiking or backpacking shoes. I would work out your arms as well. I held on to those cables with a death grip.
Enjoy!!!
I shot this with a Theta V camera.
Kennedy lake backpacking
This weekend we hiked close to 20 miles in the Emigrant wilderness with 40 and 30 lb packs (respectively). We camped by Kennedy lake for a couple of nights. Setting up camp, I saw a few other backpackers coming in at sunset and asked them to join us at an adjacent camp flat because, well, we were the only campers out there. .
.
The next day, we all spent our time exploring the lake and jumping in when it got too hot. It was painfully cold, so you couldn’t enjoy a good swim like you’d hope for. We snagged a couple of brook trout from the lake and cooked them up for a good ole campfire snack. Our comrades brought over wine and we all shared some amazing stories and big belly laughs. They pointed out to us the longest lasting shooting star Ive ever seen. It traversed for at least 3 full seconds!
.
It’s so refreshing to get out of your comfort zone sometimes. It’s really hard, but you’re always grateful when you do. We had to hike 2 of the miles in knee deep mud that gave me ankle biting bilateral blisters (ABBBs ????) and the sun has us burned despite the amount of sunscreen we applied. .
.
Ive been remiss as a nurse taking care of these ailments. Today I’m walking around again in my Sanuks happy to feel the pain of my blisters and burns. It reminds me I was there. Uncomfortable experiences always make for the best memories. Man, this sure was a fun one!

Zion National Park - Mount Carmell Highway - Utah - LeAw in the USA //Ep.41
We are living the American dream driving the Historic Route 66 from Chicago to Santa Monica but we are doing some detours to visit some places we like.
In this 41st episode, we are visiting Zion National Park, hiking to Emerald Pools, to the Narrows and driving through Mt. Carmell Tunnel with Lucky LeAw, our old vintage truck camper.
Enjoy the ride with us! ;)
Zion National Park is an American national park located in Southwestern Utah near the city of Springdale. A prominent feature of the 229-square-mile (590 km2) park is Zion Canyon, which stretches 15 miles (24 km) long and spans up to half a mile (800 m) deep. It cuts through the reddish and tan-colored Navajo Sandstone by the North Fork of the Virgin River. The lowest point in the park is 3,666 ft (1,117 m) at Coalpits Wash and the highest peak is 8,726 ft (2,660 m) at Horse Ranch Mountain. Located at the junction of the Colorado Plateau, Great Basin, and Mojave Desert regions, the park has a unique geography and a variety of life zones that allow for unusual plant and animal diversity. Numerous plant species as well as 289 species of birds, 75 mammals (including 19 species of bat), and 32 reptiles inhabit the park's four life zones: desert, riparian, woodland, and coniferous forest. Zion National Park includes mountains, canyons, buttes, mesas, monoliths, rivers, slot canyons, and natural arches.
Human habitation of the area started about 8,000 years ago with small family groups of Native Americans, one of which was the semi-nomadic Basketmaker Anasazi (300 CE). Subsequently, the Virgin Anasazi culture (500 CE) and the Parowan Fremont group developed as the Basketmakers settled in permanent communities.[4] Both groups moved away by 1300 and were replaced by the Parrusits and several other Southern Paiute subtribes. Mormons came into the area in 1858 and settled there in the early 1860s. In 1909, President William Howard Taft named the area Mukuntuweap National Monument in order to protect the canyon. In 1918, the acting director of the newly created National Park Service, Horace Albright, drafted a proposal to enlarge the existing monument and change the park's name to Zion National Monument, a name used by the Mormons. According to historian Hal Rothman: The name change played to a prevalent bias of the time. Many believed that Spanish and Indian names would deter visitors who, if they could not pronounce the name of a place, might not bother to visit it. The new name, Zion, had greater appeal to an ethnocentric audience. On November 20, 1919, the United States Congress established the monument as Zion National Park, and it was signed by President Woodrow Wilson. The Kolob section was proclaimed a separate Zion National Monument in 1937, but was incorporated into the park in 1956.
The Emerald Pools Trail begins at the Zion Lodge westward to Lower Emerald Pool. Built in 1932, it was created using only hand tools. An extension built the same year runs to the Grotto Campground. The first section required the construction of stone steps to a high standard of design and finish. Repairs to the stonework were carried out in 1969. The 2.2-mile (3.5 km) trail was individually listed on the National Register of Historic Places on February 14, 1987.
The Narrows is the narrowest section of Zion Canyon in Zion National Park, Utah. Situated on the North Fork of the Virgin River and upstream of the main canyon, The Narrows is one of the premier hikes in the park and on the Colorado Plateau.
The Zion – Mount Carmel Highway is a 25 mi long road in Utah in the USA, with a 1.1 mi long tunnel. The road runs from the entrance to Zion National Park eastward to Mount Carmel Junction with U.S. Route 89 as a portion of Utah State Route 9. The road became part of a loop tour of Zion, Bryce Canyon, Cedar Breaks and the North Rim of Grand Canyon National Park.
