May Lake Hike, Yosemite National Park
A quick hike up to May Lake in Yosemite National Park, California. The sky's threatened with rain the entire hike up to May Lake, then poured once arriving to the lake....perfect! The hike is an easy 2.5 mile round trip hike, however was rushed during this trek due to the threatening storm. Had the best time nonetheless!
The May Lake trailhead is located in Yosemite's high country just off of Highway 120 before Tenaya Lake.
MAY LAKE TRAIL YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK
On our 2nd day of our eastern sierras trip we hiked a bunch of the trails on Tioga Pass in Yosemite National Park. The first hike we did was May Lake. This 2.4 mile round trip hike to a very beautiful lake is so worth doing. Not a super hard hike but there is some steep incline going to the Lake. Once we arrive to the lake it was just beautiful with the mountains reflecting on it! Hope you enjoy our tour of this awesome hiking trail.

CALIFORNIA HIKING - South Lake Tahoe | Yosemite National Park
This video brings some of the moments we had on our trip to South Lake Tahoe and Yosemite National Park. South Lake Tahoe is the kind of place that is so lovely that we could only think about living there one day (or at least to come back for a ski season!). On our way to Yosemite we saw one of the most beautiful sunsets of our lifes, the shades of red were unbelievable. Hope you guys like it and go there someday as well!

When ready, browse vacation packages to Yosemite National Park:
#YosemiteNationalPark sits on the western slopes of California’s Sierra Nevada Mountains. Most visitors spend their #vacation in Yosemite Valley, which despite being only 7 miles long and 1 mile wide, packs in more jaw-dropping scenery than just about any other place on Earth.
#Visit Tunnel View and stand before a panorama that’s reduced generations of visitors to silence. The Yosemite Valley ring road follows the banks of the Merced River, which shifts in character as it thunders from the valley walls, before gently winding across the valley floor. The ring road is dotted with trailheads that lead to 800 miles of hiking trails.
Drive along Tioga Road, one of the USA’s most scenic highways. Fill your lungs with alpine air at Olmsted Point, refresh yourself by the waters of Tenaya Lake, then spend the day at Tuolumne Meadow, the traditional summer hunting grounds of the Ahwaneechee.

Mount Hoffman - Yosemite National Park
Tioga Pass is a true gem of Yosemite National Park and offers many amazing day hikes out of the high country. Mount Hoffman is no exception. Located in the geographic center of Yosemite National Park, Mount Hoffman offers some of the best views available. The hike is 6.2 miles round trip with an elevation gain of 2,500’. The summit also sits at an impressive 10,855 making this journey well worth the effort.
Park at the May Lake trailhead. 1 mile into the hike you will discover the May Lake High Camp. This camp offers bear boxes and facilities. You may be tempted to spend the afternoon basking in the lakes glory but keep pushing 2 miles past the lake for the true prize, the summit of Mount Hoffman. NOTE* You cannot swim in May Lake since it provides drinking water to the park providing another reason to keep on keeping on.
There are of 2 false summit mounds. As you climb what appears to be the final accent stay left to ascend the saddle and push your way the last ½ to the tower on Mount Hoffman’s summit. Good shoes, 2 liters of water, layers and trekking poles are recommended for the task at hand.
Remember to have fun, be safe and take a hike.
