Algonquin Provincial Park is a provincial park located between Georgian Bay and the Ottawa River in Ontario, Canada, mostly within the Unorganized South Part of Nipissing District. Established in 1893, it is the oldest provincial park in Canada. Additions since its creation have increased the park to its current size of about 7,653 square kilometres . For comparison purposes, this is about one and a half times the size of Prince Edward Island or about a quarter of the size of Belgium. The park is contiguous with several smaller, administratively separate provincial parks that protect important rivers in the area, resulting in a larger total protected area.Its size, combined with its proximity to the major urban centres of Toronto and Ottawa, makes Algonquin one of the most popular provinci...

We went 60 feet below the surface, where the temperature stays around 10 to 12 degrees celcius. One narrow path leads to several open chambers in this series of caves and fossils that dates back to the Ordovician Period.
Bonnechere Caves are also real-life bat-cave. No Joke - It's home to several bats in the winter months! How cool is that?!?!

This was definitely the highlight of our time in the Ottawa Valley and Ontario's Highlands!

WEEKEND ADVENTURES in SAULT STE MARIE (The Soo) - Let's Discover ON (first time in Northern Ontario)

This video & trip to The Soo will always be special because it was our first trip to Northern Ontario. We decided to fly, rent a car and drive around to explore. Our first stop was for food at The Breakfast Pig followed by an unplanned & unexpected visit to Entomica, an insectarium. The Locks were a short walk away so had to see that in action and lastly because we had a rental car we drove even further north to see the Agawa Rock pictographs. We hope that this was the first of many trips to Northern Ontario for us. It's awesome and we hope you get to see it for yourselves someday. Comment Below to let us what you think.
