1. Calabogie Peaks Calabogie
Calabogie Peaks is a ski resort in the municipality of Greater Madawaksa, Renfrew County in Eastern Ontario, Canada. It is located 80 kilometres west of Ottawa, and was founded in 1969 . Although the resort is named after the nearby community of Calabogie and Calabogie Lake, the mountain itself is actually called Dicksons Mountain. Calabogie Peaks Resort offers the highest vertical drop among public ski hills in Ontario, 238 metres . In addition to the beginner hill, Calabogie offers the longest beginner trail in Ontario, as well as plenty of intermediate and expert runs.

Aerial - Reversing Falls Park - Pembroke Maine

PEMBROKE, Maine - A curious Hawk came out of nowhere at Reversing Falls Park (a municipal nature park) in Pembroke, Maine. Exploring in our Jeep Wrangler we followed the Leighton Point Road to Mahar Point. The falls are at the northern point of a narrows separating Dennys Bay from Cobscook Bay in far eastern Maine. We found deer, seals, hawks and much more on our day trip.

The narrows are subject to a reversal of current twice a day, due to the area's unusually high tides in the Bay of Fundy region. The park is also well suited for wildlife viewing as many migratory birds pass through this park.

The area in the park vicinity is also archaeologically sensitive, as the site of Native American settlements in the area's prehistory.

Come celebrate Ontario Nature Day! This is one of several events held by 'Ontario Nature' every year. These events are usually FREE, and include hikes, animal sightings, animal demonstrations, face painting, lots of neat info, and of course, fun!

This is the 85th anniversary of Ontario Nature, a not-for-profit that promotes spaces and information of nature in this province.

PLEASE NOTE: The animals that people we're holding are part of a reptile demonstration from 'Scales Nature Park'. It is NEVER a good idea to pick up or handle a wild animal.
