Clavesana is a comune in the Province of Cuneo in the Italian region Piedmont, located about 70 kilometres south of Turin and about 30 kilometres northeast of Cuneo. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 845 and an area of 17.2 square kilometres .The municipality of Clavesana contains the frazioni Madonna delle Neve , Ghigliani, Sbaranzo, Surie, Costa Prà, Feia, Prato del Pozzo, Cravili, Ansaldi, Villero, Gorea, Chiecchi, San Pietro, San Bartolomeo, Gai, Gerino, and Tetti. Clavesana borders the following municipalities: Bastia Mondovì, Belvedere Langhe, Carrù, Cigliè, Farigliano, Marsaglia, Murazzano, and Rocca Cigliè.

Il borgo in pietra dalle finestre incorniciate di bianco, tra ulivi senza tempo e palestre di roccia
Arrivando a Castelbianco ti senti già tra le montagne, ma l’aria del mare ce l’hai ancora nei polmoni. Il borgo in pietra è composto da 4 frazioni e la frazione di Colletta ha guadagnato a tutto il borgo un posto tra i Borghi più belli d’Italia. Restaurato dopo il terremoto, sono diventate caratteristiche le sue case in pietra con le caratteristiche finestre incorniciate di bianco e i caruggi in ciottolato.

Il borgo fu ridisegnato dall’architetto De Carlo e Colletta di Castelbianco diventò il primo borgo telematico: chi sceglieva di abitarvi poteva godere della pace del villaggio ed essere comunque in contatto con il mondo del lavoro grazie a sofisticate strutture tecnologiche e di telecomunicazione.

Sovrastano ancora l’abitato i ruderi del vecchio castello dei Clavesana che ha dato nome al borgo ed è possibile ammirare diversi ponti in pietra di epoca medievale con la caratteristica forma a schiena d´asino. Da qui partono percorsi trekking, mountain bike. Per gli appassionati di free climbing, le palestre di roccia della zona, seconde solo al Finalese: motivo per cui sono conosciute col nome di Oltrefinale.
