Prunetto is a comune in the Province of Cuneo in the Italian region Piedmont, located about 70 kilometres southeast of Turin and about 50 kilometres east of Cuneo. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 492 and an area of 14.5 square kilometres . The Communities are predominantly farming based. Prunetto borders the following municipalities: Castelletto Uzzone, Gorzegno, Gottasecca, Levice, Mombarcaro, and Monesiglio.

The Sacra di San Michele, sometimes known as Saint Michael's Abbey, is a religious complex on Mount Pirchiriano, situated on the south side of the Val di Susa in the territory of the municipality of Sant'Ambrogio di Torino, in the Metropolitan City of Turin, Piedmont region of northwestern Italy. The abbey, which for much of its history came under Benedictine rule, is now entrusted to the Rosminians. A special regional law acknowledges it as the Symbolic monument of the Piedmont region. A hunting lodge for a European Court
A place of leisure and hunting, this was the favourite spot of the Savoy family for spectacular parties and solemn marriages, as well as being the residence of Napoleon in the early 19th century.

Filippo Juvarra designed the exceptional architecture for the sovereign, styled on the model of contemporary Central European Residences. For completing the project, also Benedetto Alfieri and other architects of the 1700s lent a hand, while cabinetmakers and carvers, stucco decorators and gilders helped to achieve the final decorative display.
Home to the Furniture Museum since 1919, it holds precious items of furniture, chinoiseries and masterpieces by cabinetmakers and craftsmen coming also from other Savoy Residences.
