Hot Water Beach is a beach on Mercury Bay on the east coast of the Coromandel Peninsula, New Zealand, approximately 12 kilometres south east of Whitianga, and approximately 175 kilometres from Auckland by car. Its name comes from underground hot springs which filter up through the sand between the high and low water tidal reaches. The beach is a popular destination both for locals and tourists visiting New Zealand. Annual visitor numbers have been estimated at 700,000, making it one of the most popular geothermal attractions in the Waikato Region.

Piha is a coastal settlement on the western coast of the Auckland Region in New Zealand with a population of 600. It is one of the most popular beaches in the area and a major day-trip destination for Aucklanders throughout the year, and especially in summer. Piha is 39 kilometres west of Auckland city centre, on the Tasman Sea coast to the north of the Manukau Harbour, on the western edge of the Waitakere Ranges. Immediately to the north of Piha is Whites Beach, and immediately to the south is Mercer Bay; land access to both is only by foot. The nearest beaches accessible by road are Karekare to the south, and Anawhata to the north.

Matakana is a small town in the Rodney District of New Zealand. Warkworth lies about 9 km to the south-west, Snells Beach the same distance to the south, Omaha is about 7 km to the east, and Leigh about 13 km to the north-east. The Matakana River flows through the town and into Kawau Bay to the south-east.The surrounding area contains several vineyards. It is also known for its farmers' market, cinema, cafes, restaurants and boutique food-shops. The reasonable proximity to Auckland has led to the region becoming a trendy getaway spot for foodie Aucklanders.From 2018 it is served by 7 buses a day between Warkworth and Omaha. From 2013 it had 5 buses a day and is also served by Mahu City Express. Matakana has had a bus since at least 1930, including buses to Auckland.

The town of Whangamata is sited on the southeast coast of the Coromandel Peninsula in the North Island of New Zealand. It is located 30 kilometres north of Waihi, to the north of the western extremity of the Bay of Plenty. The population of Whangamata was 3471 in the 2013 Census, a decrease of 84 from 3555 in the 2006 Census, and a decrease of 492 from 2001. In holiday times the population swells considerably: New Year's celebrations fill the town to over 25,000 though this falls soon after New Year's Day.A number of off-shore islands can be seen from the beach. Hauturu or Clark Island is accessible by wading at low tide and is popular in summer months for rock-pool fossickers and kayakers. 新西兰最大的城市奥克兰是由一系列的火山喷发物堆积而成的。奥克兰由将近50座大大小小的火山围绕，一部分还能在地表看到，另一部分由于自然或是人类的活动已经埋入了地下或已经被削平无法看出是火山的形状。奥克兰的火山基本都是死火山，但是也有研究表明部分火山处于休眠状态。

伊甸山是奥克兰诸多火山中最高的一座，最高处达到196米，又因为在伊甸山上能够居高临下的看到奥克兰最美的风景，因此伊甸山也是奥克兰的象征，

有一座叫做独树山，因山顶只有一棵松树而得名。据说，独树山从前是有许多树木的，只因当地土著痛恨欧洲人侵占他们的土地，因此把怒火发泄在山上，经常在黑夜偷偷将树木一棵棵地砍死，最后把山上的树都砍光，只剩下山顶的一棵。剩下的一棵也不是刻意保留下来的，只不过是未能将它砍死，也可能是天意，因此独树山无论是其名字、外形或是由来，都可能是世界上独一无二的。
