Demonte borders the following municipalities: Aisone, Castelmagno, Marmora, Moiola, Monterosso Grana, Pradleves, Sambuco, Valdieri, Valloriate, and Vinadio. The family name Demonte means On the Mountain. The 15th-century Italian fresco artist Giovanni Baleison was born in Demonte.
