1. Sturup RacewaySvedala Sturup Raceway is a motor racing circuit in Svedala, Sweden. It has been owned by the Danish Brask organisation since 2001. The circuit, by then called Sturupsbanan, opened in 1972 as a Rallycross venue. Later named Skånecrossbanan it was first asphalted to become a permanent road course in 1990. In 2004 and 2005 major work including a track extension from 1.1 kilometers to 2.1 kilometers with a new pit lane.Sturup held rounds of both the Swedish Touring Car Championship and Danish Touringcar Championship in 2008, but neither returned in 2009. 2. Ales StenarYstad Ale's Stones is a megalithic monument in Scania in southern Sweden. It is a stone ship, oval in outline, with the stones at each end markedly larger than the rest. It is 67 m long formed by 59 large boulders, weighing up to 1.8 tonnes each. The carbon-14 dating system for organic remains has provided seven results at the site. One indicates that the material is around 5,500 years old whereas the remaining six indicate a date about 1,400 years ago. 20 years ago, I arrived in Sweden as a wide eyed 18 year old. This was my first major travel experience, and I was scared out of my mind. I'd never been away from home, and I certainly didn't speak any Swedish. Right away however, I was in good hands. I couldn't have asked for better host families, friends and school. My year abroad opened my eyes to a world outside of Boulder, and I loved every second of my experience.
