The Best Places to Visit in New York State, USA
New York State holds the biggest pull for visitors from around the world. The entire state of New York has plenty of attractions to keep you entertained. Besides the urban allure, culture, and shopping of Manhattan, much of New York State is still, in many ways, waiting to be discovered. The state is endowed with outstanding beauty and diversity of scenery. How to Visit the amazing Watkins Glen State Park in New York Fingerlakes
We just got back from a 40 day road trip back east and part of that
was going to TBEX conference in the Finger Lakes region of New York State. #myflxtbex We took a tour through Watkins Glen State park weather was rainy as could be so the next day I took the boys back for a hike. Watkins Glen NY is a small town near Corning. Watkins Glen State Park New York is located in the middle of the town. Known for its speedway / race track, the town also hosts the Watkins Glen Gorge which is where the state park is. There are a ton of waterfalls and accessible hiking. It's a relatively small park but visually stunning. It has some of the best waterfalls in ny state parks in my opinion and is one of the best things to do in Watkins Glen NY. The boys and I didn't get to hike the whole trail because we ran out of time and we got hungry but it's good to know that the entry to the park is free and parking in their lot is just $8 a day. There are numerous hotels in the town and surrounding area and camping nearby.

Watkins Glen State Park is located outside the town of Watkins Glen, New York. The centerpiece of the park is a 400-foot-deep narrow gorge cut through rock by a stream, Glen Creek. In this video I explore the beginning of the Gorge Trail along the stream which runs over, under and along the park's 19 waterfalls by way of stone bridges and more than 800 stone steps. Unfortunately the 800+ steps were more than my arthritic feet could handle, but I explored as much of the trail as I was able.
