Anne of Ingleside is a children's novel by Canadian author Lucy Maud Montgomery. It was first published in July 1939 by McClelland and Stewart and the Frederick A. Stokes Company . It is the tenth of eleven books that feature the character of Anne Shirley, and Montgomery's final published novel. The novel is one of a series of books featuring the character Anne Shirley. Montgomery found her inspiration in a newspaper article about a couple who were mistakenly sent an orphan girl instead of a boy, yet decided to keep her.     Long Sault Parkway, a group of eleven islands west of Cornwall, Ontario, was created by St. Lawrence Seaway flooding in 1958. The islands, formerly part of the Canadian mainland before the flooding of the Long Sault rapids, are a major tourist attraction and source of revenue for the region, especially during the summer months when tourists, most notably from the Montreal region flock to the parkway for its beaches, camping, fishing, and boating opportunities.
