Key West prides itself on being the only frost-free city in the continental United States, but every once in awhile it does get cold there. On January 10, 2010, the temperature on the island never reached over 50 degrees. To most, this may not sound so bad, but there was a steady 25-knot wind making it feel much colder. Texas Parks and Wildlife Inland Fisheries staff and the Still Waters Bass Club placed 150 Christmas trees into Stamford Reservoir near Abilene to enhance angling opportunities on the lake.

In coordination with several partners, Jason Hardin is helping to successfully bring wild turkeys back to east Texas. Because of his research and coordination with other agencies and groups, the turkeys are gobbling again in the piney woods.
