The Bay of Quinte is a long, narrow bay shaped like the letter Z on the northern shore of Lake Ontario in the province of Ontario, Canada. It is just west of the head of the Saint Lawrence River that drains the Great Lakes into the Gulf of Saint Lawrence. It is located about 200 kilometres east of Toronto and 350 kilometres west of Montreal. The name Quinte is derived from Kenté, which was the name of an early French Catholic mission located on the north shore of what is now Prince Edward County.     The National Air Force Museum of Canada, formerly known as the RCAF Memorial Museum, is an aviation museum dedicated to preserving the history of the Royal Canadian Air Force and is located on the west side of CFB Trenton in Trenton, Ontario.Opened April 1, 1984 on the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the RCAF, it is home to a large collection of RCAF aircraft and artifacts. The museum is a permanent archive which collects, preserves and displays Royal Canadian Air Force memorabilia, photographs, paintings and documents as a lasting tribute and memorial to all the men and women who served our nation in the RCAF and its predecessor organizations.

    Dod Procter, born Doris Margaret Shaw, was an English artist, and the wife of the artist Ernest Procter. Her painting, Morning, was bought for the public by the Daily Mail in 1927.Procter and her husband attended art schools in England and in Paris together, where they were both influenced by Impressionism and the Post-Impressionism movements. They also worked together at times, sometimes sharing commissions and other times showing their work together in exhibitions. Procter was a lifelong artist, active after the untimely death of her husband in 1935. After Ernest's death, Procter travelled to the United States, Canada, Jamaica and Africa.
