Brackettville is a city in Kinney County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,876 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Kinney County. Brackettville claims it is the drive-in movie capital of Texas.

1. Fort Clark Springs Brackettville
Fort Clark was a frontier fort located just off U.S. Route 90 near Brackettville, in the county of Kinney, in the U.S. state of Texas. It later became the headquarters for the 2nd Cavalry Division. The Fort Clark Historic District was added to the National Register of Historic Places on December 6, 1979. The Commanding Officer's Quarters at Fort Clark was designated a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark in 1988. The Fort Clark Guardhouse became a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark in 1962. The Fort Clark Officers' Row Quarters was designated a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark in 1991.

The only reason for such type of border patrol checkpoints is to offer a second layer of control and protection against anything illegal coming directly from Mexico: illegal drugs, illegal guns and illegal immigrants.

IF you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear.

Always show them RESPECT, do not be confrontational, do not provoke them AND, in case you're using a video camera, do not purposely aim the camera at them like THEY are the ONLY reason for the recording.

Also roll down your vehicle's windows, ALL windows, BEFORE they approach your vehicle, same way you're doing anytime you cross the border into Canada or Mexico or coming back to USA.

Last but not least, when you start behaving like a moron refusing to answer their ordinary questions, think that you have tons of motorists behind you who will hate your guts for forcing them to wait in line for your idiotic behaviour, especially when 90+ temp outside.
You fully deserve a night in a county jail plus bail money out of your own pocket.

Always thank them for their service, for protecting America, for putting their life on the line knowing they might not come home to their loved ones.
