Migros Museum für Gegenwartskunst (Museum of Contemporary Art)
Devoted to collecting and exhibiting contemporary art, especially from the 1990s, the Museum of Contemporary Art features a core collection of works of the Migros Co-operative Society in the open-concept exhibition space. These stand alongside spaces dedicated to rotating exhibitions and special installations. There are both solo and group exhibitions, and the museum grants free admission on Thursday evenings from 1700 onwards.

Museum Rietberg
The collection of the Rietberg Museum of Non-European Art is fully dedicated to non-European cultures and stands as one of the city's most absorbing attractions. The museum is housed within two buildings dating from the 1850s, both of which are set within the centrally located Rieterpark. The Villa Wesendonck has special exhibitions in addition to its collection of Indian, Chinese and African art (the core of which is the sculpture collection donated by Baron Eduard von der Heydt), while the Park-Villa Rieter has a diverse display of paintings from China, Japan and India. The latter also holds occasional world music concerts.

Schweizerisches Landesmuseum (Swiss National Museum)
The Swiss National Museum lies on a landscaped triangle of parkland between the Hauptbahnhof and the Limmat and Sihl rivers, and has fulfilled the role of the nation's attic for over a century. The complex actually comprises three separate museums -- the National Museum Zurich, the Castle of Pragins and the Forum of Swiss History Schwyz. Exhibits in this labyrinthine museum therefore cover a solid range of different subjects, with special exhibitions supplementing the permanent display of items related to Switzerland and Swiss culture. These include not only paintings and sculpture but also weapons, flags, watches, clocks, tools, toys and prehistoric objects.

Zürcher Spielzeugmuseum (Zurich Toy Museum)
This quirky little museum houses a colourful assortment of toys from the 18th to 20th centuries, but should be seen as far more than just a collection of playthings. The exhibits -- ranging from railway sets and dolls to tin figurines and board games -- give valuable insight into the periods during which they were created, and the venue's location in the heart of the Old Town gives it a suitably historical feel.

Zurich, the largest city in Switzerland, has a population of 380 000 in the city and about 2 million inhabitants in the urbanized area. The city is situated about 30 km north of the Alps, nestled between the wooded hills on the western and eastern side. The lively tradition of merchant guilds in Zurich is dating back to the Middle Ages. Equally impressive are their fine guild houses and guildhalls – such as the Zunfthaus zur Waag, open since at least 1303. Fruit & Veg Market Rathausbrücke
Small market that takes place every Saturday morning. On offer: fruit and vegetables, flowers and plants, bread from the Swiss canton of Appenzell, specialities from the German region Bavaria and more.
Zurich's Medieval houses, contorted, narrow lanes and guild and town halls from the Renaissance period offer an attractive backdrop for world-class entertainment. A tour of the Old Town lets visitors experience Zurich's multifaceted past. The backdrop turns into a living history of characteristic buildings and the people that lived and acted out their lives in them.
The double towers of the Grossmünster (Great Minster) are Zurich's landmark. According to legend, Charlemagne built the towers at the location where the graves of the city saints Felix and Regula were discovered. Further sights worth seeing include the Peterskirche (Peter's Church), which has Europe's largest clockface, and the Fraumünster (Minster of Our Lady), which is known for its stained glass windows by Giacometti and Chagall.
The historic heart of Zurich, the Altstadt, or Old Town, remains the most atmospheric part of the city, with its striking 19th century buildings and winding cobblestone lanes hosting an array of modern cafes, shops and galleries. For visitors to the city, the Old Town makes the ideal starting point for a sightseeing tour of Zurich, sprawling along both sides of the River Limmat and home to many of the city’s principal tourist attractions.
Zurich's two landmark cathedrals—the medieval Fraumuenster (Church of Our Lady) and the Gothic style Grossmuenster—make navigating the Old Town easy, perched on opposite sides of the river and linked by the monumental Munster bridge. From here it’s an easy stroll to the charming Niederdorf district, crammed with quirky boutiques and hip coffee shops.
