Sackets Harbor is a village in Jefferson County, New York, United States, on Lake Ontario. The population was 1,450 at the 2010 census. The village was named after land developer and owner Augustus Sackett, who founded it in the early middle 1700’s.Sackets Harbor is in the western part of the town of Hounsfield and is west of Watertown. The Antique Boat Museum is a museum on the St. Lawrence River, in Clayton, New York, United States, which displays the largest collection of antique and classic boats in North America. It is also the site for the biennial Antique Raceboat Regatta. The museum has seasonal hours and is open mid-May to mid-October. According to their website, the Museum Statement of Purpose is To collect, preserve, study and interpret objects related to the fresh water nautical history of small craft of North America, with emphasis on the St. Lawrence River and the surrounding area.
