Schuyler is a census-designated place in Nelson County, Virginia, United States, close to Scottsville. The population as of the 2010 Census was 298.In 1882, the community—originally Walker's Mill—was named for Schuyler George Walker, local mill operator, and the area's first postmaster. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the community became a small industrial center with the establishment of a stone cutting plant for the area quarries of the Alberene Stone Company, which took the native and acid-resistant soap stone and milled the rock into flat table tops for labs and hospitals. James Madison's Montpelier, located in Orange County, Virginia, was the plantation house of the Madison family, including fourth President of the United States, James Madison, and his wife Dolley. The 2,650-acre property is open seven days a week with the mission of engaging the public with the enduring legacy of Madison's most powerful idea: government by the people. Montpelier was declared a National Historic Landmark and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1966. It was included in the Madison-Barbour Rural Historic District in 1991. My Walton Mountain Museum Trip

This is a trip we took to Schuyler, Virginia April, 2009 to see the Waltons Mountain Museum. If you are a Walton fan, you will like it. The museum is inside a old schoolhouse. You can buy things at the General Store inside there. I know I didnt look happy at the post office window but its that I dont like being in pictures is all. LOL! I have never heard the whole entire theme song before. Its by The Daniel Caine Orchestra playing. You can find out more about the museum at this link.
