Sampling German Foods & exploring Hannover
In this episode our friends Neele & Timo take us into the German City of Hannover.
We start our day in the Town Hall of Hannover, where the tourist information office is based.
We couldn't resist stopping the the local food market and there are lots of food stalls and had so we tried a few different type of German Sausage. Hannover is a great city with a relaxed atmosphere and we really enjoyed spending the day looking around.

In case you don't know us - let us introduce ourselves - we are Chris (48) & Marianne (51). We recently quit our jobs and sold our belongings to travel full time.
After more than 22 years of marriage we are still best friends - (there's a travel couple goal for you).

(Cont...) We stroll throughout Epcot to spot updates and chat about changes scheduled for the park through 2021 and beyond -- starting with the entrance! The traditional tram paths and park entryway are somewhat altered right now, with renovations underway.
The gigantic legacy stones will be moved for better guest walkability just inside of the park. We also cover updates on or changes coming to Club Cool, character meet locations, the Innoventions buildings, the Skyliner system at the International Gateway, the Ratatouille ride in the France Pavilion, and the Guardians of the Galaxy coaster and the Space 220 restaurant coming to Future World. And there's so much more!
We eat some treats: a quick tasty lunch at Sunshine Seasons in Future World and Werther's amazingly delicious caramel popcorn from Karamell-Kuche in the Germany pavilion in the World Showcase!
We also fit in a couple of Epcot rides amongst the updates in Future World: the always popular Living with the Land and Test Test, from where we can see the upper portion of the Space 220 restaurant construction!

WUPPERTAL SCHWEBEBAHN (or Wuppertal Floating Tram) is a suspension railway in Wuppertal, Germany. Its full name is Electric Elevated Railway Installation (Floating Tram), Eugen Langen System (Anlage einer elektrischen Hochbahn (Schwebebahn), System Eugen Langen). It is the oldest electric elevated railway with hanging cars in the world and an almost unique system.
Designed by Eugen Langen to sell to the city of Berlin, the installation with elevated stations was built in Barmen, Elberfeld and Vohwinkel between 1897 and 1903, the first track opened in 1901. The Schwebebahn is still in use today as a normal means of local public transport, moving 25 million passengers annually (2008).
The suspension railway travels along a route of 13.3 kilometres (8.3 mi), at a height of about 12 metres (39 ft 4 in) above the river Wupper between Oberbarmen and Sonnborner Straße (10 kilometres (6.2 mi)) and about 8 metres (26 ft 3 in) above the valley road between Sonnborner Straße and Vohwinkel (3.3 kilometres (2.1 mi)). At one point the railway crosses the A46 motorway. The entire trip takes about 30 minutes. The Schwebebahn operates within the VRR transport association and accepts tickets issued by the VRR companies.
The Wuppertal Schwebebahn nowadays carries up to 82,000 passengers a day through the city. Since 1997, the supporting frame has been largely modernised, and many stations have been reconstructed and brought technically up to date. Kluse station, at the theatre in Elberfeld, had been destroyed during the Second World War; this too was reconstructed during the modernisation. Work was planned to be completed in 2001; however a serious accident took place in 1999 which left five people dead and 47 injured. This, along with delivery problems, meant that the completion date was delayed. In recent years (2004), the cost of the reconstruction work has increased from €380 million to €480 million.
On 15 December 2009 the Schwebebahn temporarily suspended its operations for safety concerns; several of the older support structures needed to be renewed, completed on 19 April 2010.

Eugen Langen (1833--1895) was a German entrepreneur, engineer and inventor, involved in the development of the petrol engine and the Wuppertal monorail. In 1857 he worked in his father's sugar factory, JJ Langen & Söhne, after an extensive technical training at the Polytechnic institute in Karlsruhe.
In the field of rail transport equipment, Langen was co-owner and engineer of the Cologne Waggonfabrik van der Zypen & Charlier. He started the Wuppertal monorail, a suspension railway system, in 1894.
Wuppertal is a city in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is located in and around the Wupper river valley, and is situated east of the city of Düsseldorf and south of the Ruhr area. With a population of approximately 350,000, it is the largest city in the Bergisches Land. Wuppertal is known for its steep slopes, its woods and parks, and its suspension railway, the Wuppertal Schwebebahn. Two-thirds of the total municipal area of Wuppertal is green space. From any part of the city, it is only a ten-minute walk to one of the public parks or woodland paths.
In the 18th and 19th centuries, Wuppertal was one of the biggest industrial regions of continental Europe. Today, it is still a major industrial centre, being home to industries such as textiles, metallurgy, chemicals, pharmaceuticals (Aspirin was invented in Wuppertal in 1897 by Bayer), electronics, automobiles, rubber, vehicles and printing equipment.

Reggio Emilia - Italy
Reggio Emilia (Emilian: Rèz, Latin: Regium Lepidi) is a city in northern Italy, in the Emilia-Romagna region. It has about 170,000 inhabitants and is the main comune (municipality) of the Province of Reggio Emilia.
The town is also referred to by its more official name of Reggio nell'Emilia About this sound listen (help·info). The inhabitants of Reggio nell'Emilia (called Reggiani) usually call their town by the simple name of Reggio. In some ancient maps the town is also named Reggio di Lombardia.
The old town has an hexagonal form, which derives from the ancient walls, and the main buildings are from the 16th–17th centuries. The commune's territory is totally on a plain, crossed by the Crostolo stream.
