The state’s largest park is Devil’s Lake State Park in Baraboo, where kayakers and rock climbers alike relish the views of the quartzite bluffs and smooth-as-glass lake. Discover even more breathtaking vistas and meandering trails at High Cliff State Park along Lake Winnebago, Wisconsin’s largest inland lake. Heading to northwest Wisconsin, we’ll tour Amnicon Falls State Park and Pattison State Park, the latter of which is home to Wisconsin’s highest waterfall, Manitou Falls. In Door County, we explore a beautiful beach, early 1880s historic lighthouse and the only golf course in the Wisconsin State Parks system at Peninsula State Park. Pepin WI
The village of Pepin is in western Wisconsin on a wide part of the Mississippi River known as Lake Pepin. The playground in Pepin is named after the author Laura Ingalls Wilder, who was born near Pepin.

Paradise Springs Nature Area in the Wisconsin Kettle Moraine South
I photographed Paradise Springs on October 14, 2014. The dam for this two acre trout filled lake malfunctioned on June 19, 2015. Now the lake is mostly drained. Fortunately, this and other natural areas are nearby. Look for Scuppernong.

Natureland Trail Whitewater Lake Wisconsin
Nature land’s 122 acres contain 4 hiking trails, which provide an opportunity to observe the beautiful Kettle Moraine terrain. Springs and wetlands support a variety of vegetation, displaying the ecological diversity found in the park.
If you are a picnicker.
A picnic area including an open sided pavilion is available for day use with bathroom facilities nearby. A large (30’w x 50’l) cedar log cabin equipped with tables and benches is also available. The log cabin and shelters are approximately 800’ apart. Both of these areas are available for school projects, scout outings, family picnics, weddings, reunions etc.
