1. Kennywood ParkWest Mifflin Kennywood is an amusement park located in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania. The park first opened as a trolley park attraction at the end of the Mellon family's Monongahela Street Railway on May 30, 1899. It was purchased in 1906 by F. W. Henninger and Andrew McSwigan who later formed the Kennywood Entertainment Company, which owned and operated the park as a closely held family business for over 100 years. Kennywood was purchased by California-based Palace Entertainment in 2007. The amusement park features various structures and rides dating back to the early 1900s. Along with Rye Playland Park, it is one of only two amusement parks designated a National Historic Landmark for its history and historic rides, and is one of only thirteen trolley parks still operating in the United States. Ok, our travels took us downtown Pittsburgh, Pa, within a half an hour of my home town where I grew up.. We took in a pirate game.. and they won this one.. lol.. walking through Pittsburgh in the summer is a very nice walk.. it's a lovely city..we had to stop and buy tickets, and they were legit!!.. lol... well, we had a great time.. hope you like it..
NS action on the West Slope 7.14.17 PM
After spending the morning at Rochester, I traveled to central PA to railfan the west slope. Starting at South Fork and moving on to Cassandra and the Brick yard. The afternoon saw 18 trains/helper moves bringing the day's total to 32 and the trip total to 171

Took a run up to Waldwick, NJ to do some railfanning with Waldwickperson. NS-H8K is a Sun-Thur train that runs from Croxton, NJ to Campbell Hall, NY. It returns to Croxton early morning. Pretty good power tonight, and a cool surprise with the geep high hood... Tonights power was: NS-H56 NS 5616 GP38-2
